  1. Log in News Home - News Home QoL and W45 Changes March 07 2019 This week sees the release of some QoL changes from the Re-run and Miscellaneous weeks of QoL month, some new additions to W45 Deadman Mode and the removal of this year's Birthday Event. QOL Changes The changes listed in this post wrap up everything that was polled in the Re-run week and includes some of the changes from the final QoL month: Miscellaneous. Special Attack Orb Clicking on the Special attack data orb will now activate your special attack if you are wielding a weapon which has one. This change only applies to non PvP areas. A PvP area is defined as follows: Duel Arena battle arena PvP world outside safe zones DMM outside Barbarian Assault games and random event zones LMS Castle Wars TzHaar Fight Pit (the PvP one) Clan Wars instanced battles Clan Wars free-for-all arena The Wilderness, not including the Wilderness Ditch buffer zone Recolour god spell icons The God spells found on the standard spellbook have been recoloured to match their relevant Gods. GFX update to Xeric's talisman Xeric's amulet both charged and uncharged have now been graphically updated. This update also affects the mounted version of the talisman in any player's POH. One-off payment on Saniboch Players may now pay a one-off fee to enter the Brimhaven dungeon from Saniboch for 1,000,000 coins. 'Pay' option on Saniboch Left clicking on the Brimhaven dungeon entrance now automatically attempts to pay Saniboch for entry. If you have the coins with you to buy permanent access, you will also be offered this. Remove cap on dark totem pieces Players may now continue to gain Dark Totem pieces in order even if they have not combined their existing pieces. If you already have an incomplete set of dark totem pieces, the game will attempt to select a piece that will complete the set. This means that the chance of completing your set has not been made harder by this update. Expand GE history to 40 The Grand Exchange history list now extends to 40 previous listings instead of 20. W45 Deadman Mode Permanent Deadman World 345 now has a Grand Exchange! Please note that this world will become inaccessible right after the update to enable devs to do live testing on the Grand Exchange. It should come back online for you shortly after testing with the Grand Exchange and other changes that you can find listed below: Emblems NPCs above 100 combat now have a chance of dropping tier 5 emblems. The drop rate of Tier 1 emblems on wilderness slayer tasks has been greatly improved. This now matches that of Seasonal/Tournament worlds. Broken items on PvP death The broken item system has been brought into Permanent Deadman. As on PvP worlds, throughout most of the game world, items with a broken version will now be broken on death, with the PKer receiving coins based on the repair price. Speak to Perdu to repair your broken kit. Please note, in deeper Wilderness areas, above level 20, the standard behaviour still applies whereby untradeable items are turned into a small quantity of coins for the PKer. Looting Bag On a Permanent Deadman world, players may put things into the looting bag anywhere outside "guarded" zones. This now matches the functionality in Seasonal/Tournament worlds. Temple Trekking / Burgh de Rott Ramble The Temple Trekking / Burgh de Rott Ramble mini-game is now available, this gives players access to the rewards as well as the Lumberjack outfit. The clue that requires the lumberjack outfit has not been re-enabled. Slayer XP in instanced Slayer boss rooms Although training in instanced areas does not normally give XP on Deadman worlds, some Slayer XP for killing the Grotesque Guardians and Alchemical Hydra will now be awarded as those creatures die. Seed box The seed box is now able to be purchased from Farmer Gricoller. When killed via PvP, the seed box will attempt to move its contents to your bank before the loot is distributed to the PKer. This means any stacks of seeds in the seed box will be possible to be acquired as part of the bank key. Song of the Elves: Rewards and Extras We're proud to announce that everything from the first Song of the Elves poll passed in the polls, meaning the quest and main content will go into game this summer! Now's our chance to go more in depth with the smaller rewards and features you would like to see from Prifddinas. A second poll blog will be posted soon with the top suggestions and ideas for minor content in the Crystal City. If you would like to get involved and potentially have your ideas made reality in Old School, get involved in the discussion on Reddit, Twitter, and the Official Forums. You may remember that we decided not to poll Crystal armour in the first poll as you weren't happy with the final design (in terms of stats and set effect) and neither were we. To make sure we get it right, we're also holding a separate discussion on separate threads on Reddit, Twitter and the Official Forums. Alternatively you can email in your suggestions to [email protected]. The deadline for all suggestions is Friday the 29th of March. In Other News The PvP World Rota is switching over to Period A. On the east of the Atlantic, host the Bounty Hunter world (W18, UK) and the High Risk PvP world (W43, Germany). On the west of the Atlantic, host the Standard PvP world (W24, USA) and the F2P PvP world (W117, USA). Old School RuneScape's 6th Birthday Event has been removed. The birthday event rewards will be available again on our next birthday. A graphical issue with one of the ladders within the essence mine has been fixed. Confirming an offer in the GE multiple times will no longer add multiple entries to the GE History. A message has been added for when a player receives a Golden tench. A bug regarding items kept on death has now been patched. Chambers of Xeric scaling will now be based on the player with the highest combat level rather than the average. This is means that if a team of level 80 players takes someone with 126 combat, their raid will be scaled around 126 combat rather than their average which would be much lower and would in turn give them fewer points. On Friday 8th March at 5pm Game Time, we are delighted to be celebrating International Women's Day. We have teamed up with the IAMA team on Reddit, and a group of female JMods will be online and answering questions about their careers and the games industry, we hope to have you tune in! 2. Log in News Home - News Home Treasure Trails Expansion Poll Blog March 06 2019 Treasure Trails Expansion Poll Blog Welcome to the Treasure Trails Expansion Poll blog! In the coming days, we'll be polling an expansion to Treasure Trails. Back in July 2016, we released a Treasure Trails Expansion that included Master Clues, new types of challenges, and new rewards. After the announcement post on Friday the 22nd of February, we went through hundreds of your designs, suggestions, and feedback regarding the upcoming Treasure Trails Expansion. The Old School team agrees that this expansion is set to be one of the best yet! The poll for the below questions will be live on Friday (08/03/2019) and will close on the following Monday (11/03/2019). Changelog This is a revised version of a previous blog post. We have made the following changes based on your feedback: Beginner Clues will not be required to hand into Watson for a Master Clue Stackable Clues now refer to Multiple Clues to better fit the description of the change to clue scrolls Multiple Clues now have a cap of 5 per tier Multiple Clues now have a new polled option in regards to drop rates Removal of the warning message for the Mimic Boss fight when opening reward casket Addition of the Mimic Boss fight to be unlockable by talking to an NPC rather than being forced upon players Addition of stats and descriptions regarding polled rewards Beginner Clue Scrolls This short 1-3 step clue will be accessible to both F2P and P2P players and will offer F2P clue challenges and rewards . Following your feedback , this clue scroll will not be part of the requirements to obtain a master clue scroll from Watson. Alongside Beginner Clue Scrolls, there will be a new tutor to teach new F2P players how clue scrolls work and where to obtain them . In addition, at the end of the X Marks the Spot Quest, players will now be rewarded with a Beginner Clue Scroll and directed to talk to the new clue tutor to learn more about them. Players who have already completed the quest will still be able to claim their Beginner Clue Scroll Reward. Please note that Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite, and Master clue scrolls will remain members only items. New Clue Puzzles These new clue puzzles will include new slider puzzles designed by the Old School Community. Most of the designs are focused on highlighting some of our successful updates over the past few years. These new slider puzzles will appear in all clues tiers that currently have a potential to receive a slider puzzle. Some of the new slider puzzles feature designs inspired by: Raids I: Chambers of Xeric Theatre of Blood Vorkath More Rewards We had numerous designs and ideas from you for new clue rewards. After sifting through hundreds of ideas the following rewards will need to pass a poll before being put into game. They are as follows: Cape of Skulls This cape would skull the player when worn. Just like Amulet of Avarice, when equipping the cape players would be given a warning. The skull will be applied until the cape is unequipped, at which point the skull will disappear after twenty minutes. The cape would have the same stats as an Obsidian Cape. Provides the following stats: Spiked Manacles (footwear slot) This barefoot style footwear will have stats comparable to Climbing boots but with a +4 strength bonus and no defence bonuses or quest requirement. Provides the following stats: Blessed D'hide Shields These shields will have stats comparable to a Black d'hide shield but with +1 prayer bonus. They will come in Guthix, Saradomin, Zamorak, Ancient, Armadyl, and Bandos styles to match the blessed dragonhide armour currently in game. Provides the following stats: Fremennik Kilt This stylish kilt will have stats comparable to Iron platelegs but with +1 strength bonus. Provides the following stats: 3rd Age Druidic Set This will be the final set in the 3rd age set. The Top and Bottoms will require 65 Prayer and Defence to wear. The 3rd Age Druidic Wreath is not included in the set because it is already obtainable in game via Diango's Toy Store. This set will not include a new 3rd Age Druidic cloak because there is already a 3rd Age cloak in game. Provides the following stats: If the Treasure Trails expansion is added to the game, a selection of new rewards will be added. These rewards will either be cosmetic or match the stats of items with similar requirements that already exist in game. These would not be polled individually, but rather be included as part of the Treasure Trails expansion and distributed across all tiers of clue scroll. Here are just some of the new rewards that could appear in your reward casket: Uri's Hat Ranger Tights Obby Maul Ornament Kits Gilded Dragonhide Set Gilded Defender Kit Wolf Mask and Cape Sandwich Lady Outfit Heraldic Platebodies Joint of H.A.M (wieldable) Staff of Bob the Cat Double Sai Jester Cape Gnome Scarf Recolours Gilded Hatchet and Pickaxe Poll Question #1 Should a Treasure Trails expansion be added to Old School RuneScape? This expansion will include new challenges and new rewards for the existing tiers of clue scrolls as well as a brand new Beginner tier. Poll Question #2 If the Treasure Trails expansion passes, should the Cape of Skulls be added as a potential reward? Poll Question #3 If the Treasure Trails expansion passes, should Spiked Manacles be added as a potential reward? Poll Question #4 If the Treasure Trails expansion passes, should Blessed D'hide Shields be added as a potential reward? Poll Question #5 If the Treasure Trails expansion passes, should the Fremennik Kilt be added as a potential reward? Poll Question #6 If the Treasure Trails expansion passes, should the 3rd Age Druidic Set be added as a potential reward? Re-Rolling Clue Steps There have been some mixed reviews regarding re-rolling clue steps. Following from your feedback, it appears that the process of re-rolling a clue step needs some clarification. A re-roll is the ability to change the step you currently have and get a different one in its place. The only way to acquire a re-roll is to complete a set number of clue scrolls of the same tier as the clue step you want to re-roll. You can not complete numerous easy clues to unlock a re-roll for a master clue. Re-roll unlocks are to act as more of a reward for completing clue scrolls rather than making clue scrolls too easy. There is no guarantee that the re-roll will make the new step any easier. Poll Question #7 Should we allow players to unlock the ability to re-roll clue steps as described in the blog? Multiple Clue Scrolls and Stackable Reward Caskets This was one of the most talked about parts of the Treasure Trails Expansion and we want to thank you for taking the time to give us feedback regarding it. Following from feedback, multiple clues will have a hard cap at 5 per tier. This will not stack in your inventory or bank due to restrictions on how to differentiate a clue started versus just received, however, it will allow you to have multiple clues of each type, similar to how you can currently have a medium clue bottle, a medium clue nest, and a medium clue scroll at the same time. You will still only be able to complete one clue of each tier at a given time. Should multiple clues pass, there is an option to make the clue scrolls similar to Ecumenical Keys in that your rate at receiving another clue of the same tier is reduced until you reach the cap of 5. This will also apply to implings. Stackable reward caskets will allow you to have multiple caskets at the same time rather than having to open it immediately after completing each clue. You still must complete a clue scroll to receive a casket, but can complete another clue scroll without having to open/drop the reward casket first. These caskets will stack and take up one slot in your inventory or bank. Poll Question #8 Should we allow players to have multiple clue of the same tier with a cap at 5 per tier as described in the blog? Poll Question #9 If question 8 passes, should Clue drops behave as receiving Ecumenical Keys does? This means your chances of receiving further clues after your first one decreases each time, up to the limit of five clue per tier. Poll Question #10 Should we allow players to have stackable reward caskets as described in the blog? Treasure Trails Mimic Boss Players will be able to unlock the ability to fight the Mimic Boss. After unlocking the feature by speaking to an NPC, upon completion of a clue scroll your reward casket will have a rare chance at becoming a Mimic that you must defeat in order to receive your reward. This Mimic boss will be found on Elite and Master clue caskets and will swallow you whole into an instance to initiate the fight. The mechanics of the fight are still to be determined, however, it was suggested by one of you to have the Mimic boss spawn floating ghostly NPCs wearing 3rd Age Sets that attack you while having the Mimic boss throw various Treasure Trails items representing different attack styles. Another suggestion from you was to have the Mimic boss transform into random Old School RuneScape iconic bosses that will imitate attack styles of that boss. Should Mimic boss pass a poll, we will look to you all for feedback regarding the overall mechanics of the fight. Keep in mind that the Mimic boss is intended to be high risk but high reward. Poll Question #11 Should we introduce an optional but rare Mimic Boss fight to reward caskets for a chance at a better clue reward? Clue Scroll Graphical Changes A graphical change to the way clue scrolls look in your inventory and bank will help make it easier to distinguish between the tiers of clue scrolls. We have received a few ideas regarding the graphical changes and have a mock up of them above to make them fit the style of Old School but also make them distinguishable, similar to the clue bottles and nests: Poll Question #12 Should we introduce a graphical change to clue scrolls to make them easily distinguishable between the tiers? You can find a mock up image of the graphical change on the blog. 5. Log in News Home - News Home Bug: Twisted Bows February 28 2019 Bug: Twisted Bows at the Farming Guild At the time of thes week's update (11:30 GMT - 28/02/2019), a bug entered the game whereby a Twisted bow spawn was added close to the Farming Guild in Kebos. As a result, an unknown number (we are working on this) of Twisted bows entered the game unfairly. Very shortly after (before the hour was out), this was hotfixed to no longer have an option to be picked up or Telegrabbed. 13:35: The game has been turned off while we examine our options and work with various teams to decide what happens next. Rolling back the game is one such option we are considering. More on this will be posted as the situation develops. 13:56: We can confirm that the game will be rolled back. You can expect the game to be reset and come back online as it was just before the update at 11:30am GMT this morning. Any changes made to your account between then and now will be reverted and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. We estimate that it will take 4-6 hours to complete the rollback. 6. Log in News Home - News Home QoL and CoX Changes February 28 2019 This week sees the release of several changes and tweaks from the Skilling, Re-run and Miscellaneous weeks of QoL month. Previously promised Chambers of Xeric changes are also included. QoL Changes The changes listed in this post wrap up everything that was polled in both Skilling week and Re-run week, minus the Special Attack Orb change which has been held back for further testing. We are now looking to make a start on the changes from the final month: Miscellaneous. The first of these (regarding the Expert mining gloves) is included below: Prayer Skill Guide The Prayer skill guide now shows the icon for each prayer rather than a holy symbol. Dragon Defender The Dragon defender has been updated to appear red rather than pink. Hespori Growth Indicator A plant has been added to indicate when the Hespori is fully grown in the Farming guild. When the plant by the Hespori's cave entrance is sprouted and open, this means the Hespori is ready to be fought or has been killed but not yet looted. Expert Mining Gloves The Expert mining gloves effect now also works when mining Amethyst - giving a chance for the rock to avoid depleting. Chambers of Xeric Changes This update brings the last of the changes from the Chambers of Xeric blog we published last month. Although that blog proposed an update to the energy wells in the Chambers, that wasn't so well received, so we're not proceeding with it for now. It can be polled in future if players do turn out to want it. We're also no longer pushing the idea of Xeric's Wards, the items that would earn you the right to avoid an undesirable boss room, at least for now. However, players did make some additional requests in response to the blog. In particular, we'd like to adjust how the Chambers of Xeric scales its NPCs' combat stats and points to suit each party. The current behaviour is to look at the average combat stats of the party members. This has led to parties being disadvantaged if a pure member drags down their averages. We'd like to change it so that it looks at the highest combat stats of any party member, rather than the average ones. For solo trips this won't make a difference, but mixed parties will no longer be so disadvantaged by including pures. That change hasn't been ready for this week's update, but we hope to launch it in early March. The Ice Demon The following changes have been made to improve the experience of facing the Ice Demon room within the Chambers of Xeric: Trees found within the Ice Demon room in Chambers of Xeric are now less likely to fall Players will now receive more wood than before when successfully chopping trees within the room based on Woodcutting level As trees in CoX can now give more wood than before, the Woodcutting XP gained per item of kindling has been reduced slightly The Ice Demons defences are now lower than before and its magic defence behaviour has also been changed, making it weaker to spells overall including it's additional weakness to fire spells Other In Challenge Mode, the 5k bonus points are now added to the team's reward Premier Club Gold Ending Soon! Premier Club 2019 Gold membership will be no longer available after Sunday March 3rd, at 23:59 Game Time. Don't miss the chance to get our best value membership offer while you can if you haven't already! In Other News Pures: The forum thread for posting your details regarding unwanted XP gained after last week's update has been closed. We are still investigating ways to fix the issue for affected accounts - we will give updates on the situation as it develops. Clan Wars and Pest control no longer reset the players autocast spell when they leave Items which are Never protected on death, such as Bounty Hunter Emblems, will now also be lost on death when noted Players may now toggle fake XP drops in the "Configure XP Drops" interface It is now possible to break rings of forging to reset their charges back to 140 without having to use the ring up fully for it to break. 7. Log in News Home - News Home Song of the Elves Poll Blog: Main Content February 25 2019 Song of the Elves Poll Blog: Main Content Welcome to the revised version of the first Song of the Elves blog where we have amended the questions following feedback from the first version. Here, we'll be pitching the questions you can expect to see in the poll booths tomorrow (26/02/2019)! All of these questions are for the main pieces of content and rewards. A second blog and in game poll will be posted held soon for all of the smaller features and rewards in and around Prifddinas. If you want to learn more about the initial announcement of Song of the Elves, we recommend you check out the reveal blog. The poll for the below questions will be live tomorrow (26/02/2019) and closed on Friday (01/03/2019). Changelist Here is the list of changes made to the original version of the blog which feature in this revised version: The question offering a herb patch was removed A chest for storing items outside the Gauntlet was added The set effect for Crystal armour was buffed and applied to individual pieces Crystal armour piece degradation was changed to have uncharged versions Crystal tools degradation was changed to have uncharged versions Clarification on PvP death behaviour for Crystal armour and tools was added Crystal tools questions were split to be polled separately An image of the Prifddinas gates was added with some words from the Art Team Other minor clarifications and rewording A section for other considerations was added to the bottom The Quest You think youre the hero of this story, but youre not - Lord Iorwerth Big things have small beginnings. Sixteen years ago, the Plague City quest was added to RuneScape. This quest marked the beginning of the fabled elf quest series, the oldest and longest quest series in the game. From elven rebellions to Dark Lords, the series has told a thrilling story with many twists and turns. Now, after all of these years, its finally time for this story to come to its conclusion with Old School RuneScapes newest Grandmaster quest, Song of the Elves! Song of the Elves will see you team up with a range of characters from across the series to finally put an end to the schemes of Lord Iorwerth and King Lathas. Do not expect this to be easy - you will face challenging puzzles and deadly foes as you fight to bring peace to the elven lands. Thats all were going to say about Song of the Elves for now, as we dont want to ruin the surprises of the quest. However, you can be sure that it will be an epic adventure unlike any other. Poll Question #1 Should the Song of the Elves quest be added to Old School RuneScape? Prifddinas Click or tap the map for a larger version. For years, the empty city of Prifddinas has sat untouched on the Old School RuneScape map. With Song of the Elves, the gates of this legendary crystal city will finally open to those who succeed in bringing an end to the tyranny of Lord Iorwerth and King Lathas. Prifddinas will contain a range of shops, resources and other amenities. It will also feature some brand-new content, offering some exciting rewards. Check out the map above to see what Prifddinas has to offer. We wont be polling the addition of every shop and resource - theyll be covered by the main poll question. However, the more useful pieces of content have their own separate questions which can be found below. Poll Question #2 If Song of the Elves is added to the game, should the elven capital of Prifddinas also be added? Entry into the city will require completion of Song of the Elves. Poll Question #3 If Prifddinas is added to the game, should it include a new Player-owned house location? Moving a house here would require completion of Song of the Elves, 70 Construction and 50,000 coins. Poll Question #4 If Prifddinas is added to the game, should it include some Teak and Mahogany trees? There will be three Teak trees and two Mahogany trees. Poll Question #5 If Prifddinas is added to the game, should it include a new Sawmill? This Sawmill would be further away from a bank than the one in the Woodcutting Guild. However, if the above question passes, it will be the closest Sawmill to Teak and Mahogany trees. Poll Question #6 If Prifddinas is added to the game, should it include new Soft clay rocks? These rocks would work exactly like clay rocks but would give Soft clay instead of clay. Wearing a Bracelet of clay whist mining Soft clay would grant two Soft clay instead of one for every successful mine. These will require Song of the Elves and 70 Mining. We're currently exploring ideas for how the Prifddinas of 2009 could look. Our focus is to make this area of the map exude the established elven lore of Old School by introducing organic wood and magical crystal structures which the elves have sung into existence. With Prifddinas palette of earthy browns, lush greens and ethereal blues in combination with elegant, interwoven organic structures, the elven capital will be one of our most ambitious environments to date! ~ Mod Ghost and the Art Team Images and detail are currently a WIP and are subject to change and open to player feedback The Gauntlet As mentioned above, Prifddinas will feature some brand-new, unique pieces of content. The first of these is the Gauntlet. Created by the elves as a training ground to ensure they were capable of defending the city during the God Wars, the Gauntlet is a new solo PvM minigame that will push your skills to their limits. When entering the Gauntlet, you will not be allowed to bring any of your own items. Instead, you will be given a limited amount of time to explore the area in search of resources. The area will contain crystals, roots, herbs and fish that you can obtain through Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing and other gathering methods, to make weapons, armour, potions and food. These various resources will not require a specific skill level to gather. However, high skill levels will grant more resources at a faster rate. The dungeon will also contain various Crystalline monsters which can be killed for further supplies. Higher level monsters will offer better drops at the cost of taking more time to defeat. To keep you on your toes, the layout of the Gauntlet will be random each time you enter, causing the monsters and resources to spawn in different locations. You also wont be able to see all of the dungeon initially and will need to explore it to discover where everything is, making for a frantic and fast-paced challenge. Once time is up and you have gathered your supplies, you will be forced into the central chamber of the Gauntlet. Here, you will need to use everything youve gathered to defeat the Crystalline Hunllef. Based upon a deadly wolf-like predator from the elven homeworld, the Crystalline Hunllef is a vicious enemy that only the most worthy will be capable of defeating. Completion of the Gauntlet will grant you access to a new loot table. Failing to finish, either by death or leaving early, will give a small token reward based upon how well you performed but won't grant any chance of a unique. The Gauntlet is a dangerous minigame so death will result in the loss of a Hardcore Ironman status. As you cant take any items into the Gauntlet, a chest will be found outside for you to temporarily store your items in whilst you are in the minigame. Your items will only be stored here while you are in the Gauntlet so it cant be used as extra storage. Poll Question #7 If Prifddinas is added to the game, should it include the Gauntlet, a brand-new solo PvM challenge? Crystal Armour The Gauntlet loot table wont just be made up of existing items. It will also offer the only way for you to obtain Crystal Armour, a brand-new armour set designed to compliment the existing crystal weaponry. The armour will consist of three pieces, a helmet, a chestplate, and platelegs. Equipping the items in this set will require 70 Defence and 50 Agility. Images and detail are currently a WIP and are subject to change and open to player feedback The Gauntlet loot table wont directly give Crystal Armour. Instead, it will have a chance of giving a Crystal armour seed. A Crystal armour seed can be combined with Crystal shards to create the pieces of the new Crystal Armour set. Crystal shards are another new item that players will be able to obtain by completing various activities in Prifddinas, including the Gauntlet. Crystal armour seeds will be tradeable but Crystal shards and the armour itself will not. The table below shows the requirements to create Crystal Armour. Players who do not meet the level requirements will be able to pay an elf in Prifddinas to create the armour for them. This will cost 60 Crystal shards per piece of armour. Like other crystal equipment, Crystal Armour will degrade. However, unlike other crystal equipment, its stats wont degrade as it does. Over time, the armour will degrade into an uncharged version, similar to Barrows armour. You will be able to add more charges by using Crystal shards on either charged or uncharged versions on the armour. Each Crystal shard will provide 100 charges and each armour piece will hold up to 5,000 charges in total. Each piece of freshly made armour wil start with 2,500 charges. The table below shows the stats of Crystal Armour. In addition to these stats, the armour will have a set effect. When all three pieces are worn, you will receive a 10% boost to damage and a 20% boost to accuracy when using crystal weaponry. This will also apply partially when wearing individual pieces of the set. In other words, a 2% damage boost will be given for each item worn with an extra 4% if the full set is worn, giving 10% in total. Similarly, give a 4% accuracy boost will be given for each item worn with an extra 8% if the full set is worn, giving 20% in total. Because Crystal armour is untradeable and can only be made in Prifddinas, it will require Song of the Elves completion to equip. A dangerous death in PvP will cause Crystal armour to revert to their seeds which would then be dropped for the killer. Any Crystal shards will be lost. Poll Question #8 If the Gauntlet is added to the game, should it have a chance of giving Crystal armour seeds as a reward? These Crystal armour seeds will be used to create Crystal Armour. Zalcano Although the elves did their best to avoid the God Wars, they were unable to stop the carnage reaching Prifddinas. Over the thousands of years that the God Wars took place, many foes came to the city in the hope of claiming the knowledge and power of the elves. One of these foes was Zalcano, once a demon in service to Zamorak, her ambition eventually got the better of her and she was cursed by the god during an attempted uprising against him. This curse doomed her to turn to stone. The elves had no desire to help Zalcano, so she decided to try and take from them what they were unwilling to give. She failed, and they trapped her beneath the city so they could study her condition. Now, thousands of years later, she remains beneath the city. The elves studying her often need help keeping her in check, and theyll happily reward anyone willing to give them a hand. Zalcano is a new boss that is immune to traditional combat damage. Instead, you will need to use your Mining, Smithing and Runecraft skills to create magical charges capable of destroying her stone armour. Once her armour has been destroyed, youll be able to damage her by mining her core with your pickaxe. While you do this, she will do everything she can to fight back and will have a variety of abilities at her disposal. Besides access to the city, there are no additional requirements to face Zalcano. However, you will find that higher levels in Mining, Smithing and Runecraft will be advantageous. On top of this, Zalcanos attacks will be powerful and will not scale for lower levels so a high hitpoints level is reccomended. Players will be able to fight Zalcano both alone and in a group. Poll Question #9 If Prifddinas is added to the game, should it include Zalcano, a brand-new boss that can only be defeated through skilling? Crystal Tools Zalcano will not be a new training method and as such will only grant token amounts of experience. Instead, the reward for defeating Zalcano will be access to her loot table. This table will contain gems, ores and a brand-new unique item, the Crystal tool seed. Crystal tool seeds will be combinable with Crystal shards to create three new pieces of equipment. Crystal shards will be obtainable by completing various activities in Prifddinas, including fighting Zalcano. Crystal equipment seeds will be tradeable but the equipment itself and the Crystal shards will not. The three new tools are the Crystal pickaxe, Crystal axe and Crystal harpoon. Each one is made by combining a Crystal tool seed with 120 Crystal shards and the corresponding piece of Dragon equipment. Doing this requires 76 Smithing and 76 Crafting. Images and detail are currently a WIP and are subject to change and open to player feedback These new items will require level 71 in the respective skill to use and will offer faster gathering speeds than their dragon counterparts. The items will require 70 Attack and 50 Agility to equip. They will retain the equipped stats and special attacks of their dragon counterparts. Crystal tools will degrade after 10,000 uses with each item gathered counting as one use (mining 10,000 ores for example). Once a Crystal tool degrades, it will revert into a Crystal tool seed. The Dragon item used to create the tools will be recovered but the Crystal shards will not. Crystal Pickaxe: this will have a 1/4 chance to mind an ore one tick faster than the Rune pickaxe (up from 1/6 for the Dragon pickaxe) Crystal Axe: this will be 15% more efficient at chopping logs than the Rune axe (up from 10% for the Dragon axe) Crystal Harpoon: this will have a 35% faster catch rate when fishing at a harpoon fishing spot (up from 20% for the Dragon harpoon) Because Crystal tools are untradeable and can only be made in Prifddinas, they will require Song of the Elves completion to use. A dangerous death in PvP will cause Crystal tools to revert to their Dragon equivalents which would then be dropped for the killer. Any Crystal shards will be lost. Poll Question #10 If Zalcano is added to the game, should she have a chance of dropping Crystal tool seeds as a reward? These Crystal tool seeds will be used to create Crystal Pickaxes, Crystal Axes and Crystal Harpoons. If none of the below questions pass, this won't be added. Poll Question #11 If question #10 passes, should players be able to use Crystal tool seeds to create Crystal Pickaxes? Poll Question #12 If question #10 passes, should players be able to use Crystal tool seeds to create Crystal Axes? Poll Question #13 If question #10 passes, should players be able to use Crystal tool seeds to create Crystal Harpoons? Other Feedback We'd like to take this opportunity to address other points of feedback that you raised. These points will be covered in the second poll blog for rewards and extras. We would still like to move Crystal related imbues away from the Nightmare Zone and into Prifddinas to be more thematic. We're open to adding a Crystal sword or similar one-handed melee weapon to the set. Similarly, a Crystal staff is being considered. These could feature in the second poll. A Crystal quiver or similar item was suggested to buff the Crystal bow when worn was a popular suggestion. This could potentially be included as an extra reward. This could also feature in the second poll. In place of the herb patch, we would like to offer a new patch design for a Crystal tree. This can be expected in the second poll. We shall keep the Gauntlet a solo experience. As the Theatre of Blood is not designed for solo play, this provides a new piece of content for solo players. There is space for similar content aimed at groups in future. Thats everything for this blog. As always, be sure to share your feedback with us on our social channels. As mentioned at the start of this blog, this is not everything we have planned for Prifddinas and if it passes this poll, a second poll blog and in game poll will take place to cover all the additional rewards and extra content associated with Prifddinas. Make sure to let us know what you would like to see in that poll also! 8. Log in News Home - News Home Crack the Clue II and Treasure Trails Expansion February 22 2019 Crack the Clue 2 In 2016 we saw the release of Crack the Clue. After 12 gruelling months of theorising, searching and inspecting pixels, the Helm of Raedwald was finally found! Congratulations once again, Pikachu Yip! The time has come to bring you the sequel to your favourite clue-seeker event with Crack the Clue 2. Gather your friends and spades and delve into the depths of Gielinor to uncover hidden treasures from a secret organisation. Similar to the last clue-seeker event, over the course of the next couple of weeks we will be releasing hints to help Crack the Clue. These clues will be solvable in game allowing you to unlock a piece of a brand-new set of cosmetic gear! Once all clues have been released, the information they provide can be combined to create an especially challenging mystery. The first player to successfully solve it will be forever commemorated in the game. All players who are able to complete the clue will also receive the final piece of equipment to complete the set! For all things Crack the Clue, be sure to follow our dedicated Clue-hunting Discord, and Reddit as well as our Official Twitter, Instagram, and FaceBook accounts. To kick things off, here is the clue for the first week: Treasure Trails Expansion Back in July 2016, we released a Treasure Trail Expansion that included Master Clues, new types of challenges, and new rewards. This year we want your help in shaping a new expansion for Treasure Trails. We welcome all feedback, design ideas, and suggestions to help make this expansion to Treasure Trails one of the best yet. Player Designed Content We want this expansion to be about your feedback, your suggestions, and your designs. For full transparency, everything listed below are just ideas that we have come up with and we would really like to incorporate player designed content as much as possible in this Treasure Trails expansion. Please submit your ideas and designs on the following thread here or email them to [email protected] with design attachments as a JPEG file, including your display name (the name of your character in-game) and using the subject line Treasure Trails Expansion. Players whose design we use for rewards, puzzles, and challenges will have their display name forever commemorated on the noticeboard in Watson's house. So get your ideas out there and let's make this expansion all about you, the players! New Clue Tier (Beginner Clues for F2P) We want clue scrolls to be enjoyed by everyone so we would like to add a Beginner Clue. This short 1-3 step clue will be accessible to both F2P and P2P players and will offer some F2P clue challenges and rewards that you can help design and shape. With Beginner Clue Scrolls, we would like to add a clue scroll tutor to teach new F2P players all about clue scrolls and how they work. Along with the tutor, at the end of X Marks the Spot, players will be given an additional reward of a beginner clue scroll and directed to talk to the new clue tutor to learn more about them. Players who have already completed the quest will still be able to claim the clue. Please note that Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite, and Master clues will remain members only. New Clue Puzzles Following on the success of some of our bigger updates these past couple of years, we would like to add new slider puzzles featuring images of those updates. We would also like to add a completely new puzzle type that could be obtained in Hard, Elite, and Master clues. We are open to any suggestions for challenging puzzles for these clues tiers and for new design images for slider puzzles. Re-Rolling Clue Steps Some clue steps require levels that a player hasn't reached or items that they cannot afford. As an alternative, if a player were to do a specific number of clues, they will unlock a re-roll ability for that clue scroll tier. For example, should a player complete a set number of easy clue scrolls, they unlock 1 re-roll for an easy clue scroll step. This re-roll will generate a new step in the place of the current active step on the clue. There is no guarantee that the new step generated will be easier than the step that was skipped. Stackable Clue Scrolls and Reward Caskets We would like to offer you the ability for players to have more than one clue of the same type in either their inventory or bank. Players will still be able to only complete one clue of each tier at a time. Along with stacking clue scrolls we would like to offer stackable caskets. Upon completion of a clue, the casket you receive can be stored in your bank or inventory and opened at a later time. This will not affect you receiving another casket when completing another clue scroll. Expansions to Existing Tiers There's also the option to add new clues rewards to the existing tiers of clue scrolls, and we'd like you all to come up with and design some content for these rewards. Here are some of our ideas below: Cape of Skulls Pirate Outfit Dragonhunter Crossbow Recolours Gilded Dragonhide Set Sandwich Lady Outfit Gnome Scarf Recolours Heraldic Platebodies Runes Cape Gilded Battleaxe Beekeeper Outfit Double Sai Spiked Manacles (footwear slot) Blessed D'hide Shields Wieldable Balloon Animal Wolf Mask and Cloak Staff of Bob the Cat Treasure Trails Mimic Boss Additionally, we can add a roll to Treasure Trails in which your casket has a chance at becoming a Mimic that you must defeat in order to receive your reward. This Mimic boss will be found on Elite and Master clue caskets and will give you a warning before proceeding to fight it. Upon defeating the Mimic, you will be greatly rewarded. We'd love your suggestions on the boss fight, any reward ideas, and design concepts. Clue Scroll Graphic Changes We would also like to include a graphical change to the way clue scrolls look in your inventory and bank. This is to make it easily distinguishable between the tiers of clue scrolls. We welcome any designs on helping make clue scrolls easier to identify. 9. Log in News Home - News Home QoL Month Poll: Miscellanous February 21 2019 QoL Month Week 4: Miscellaneous It's time for our fourth week of QoL month - Miscellaneous! For the final part of QoL month we have gathered a plethora of suggestions that didn't quite fit in the previous weeks! We also will include the proposed sand changes discussed last week. The schedule for Miscellaneous Week is as follows: In-game poll live by 22/02 (dependent on feedback) In-game poll closes 26/02 Make sure you head over to the Old School Content Suggestions forum, or Reddit (/r/2007scape/) to share your suggestions for Week 4 - Other changes!  As a quick mention - we are aware of the bug that affected some players shortly after today's update went live, resulting in unwanted combat XP on some accounts. If you were affected by this, make sure to check out this this Tweet and or this forum thread.. Poll Questions Poll Question #1 Should the Achievement Diary requirement that asks players to complete a round of the Trouble Brewing minigame be changed to only require they enter the lobby instead? The requirements to start Trouble Brewing will not be affected. Poll Question #2 Should the Quest tab be changed to have a four tab system similar to the player-designed one shown below? This would allow you to switch more easily between the Quest, Achievement Diaries, Minigames and Kourend Favour lists. Image provided by GentleTractor. Note: In offering this redesign, we open up the possibility of expanding the interface to include additional ideas and tabs shown in the original suggestion of this redesign. We plan on returning to this suggestion and expanding on it further in the future. Poll Question #3 Should the right-click "Travel" option on Veos be split into "Great Kourend" and "Land's End", allowing players to travel to each destination more conveniently? Currently it requires going through a dialogue box selection. Poll Question #4 Should the process of cleaning finds in Varrock museum be streamlined? This would include being able to take more than one rock from the box at a time; the cleaning process being automated (similar to creating vials of potions) for the whole inventory rather than individual; reducing the time it takes to clean each find; and adding a left-click "Take" option for the specimen tables. Poll Question #5 Should Mystic Robe sets be created for the Grand Exchange? This would allow players to easily buy and sell entire sets of Mystic Robes. They would be separated by colour. Poll Question #6 Should the number of trades you are able to see in your Grand Exchange history be doubled from 20 to 40? Poll Question #7 Should the chatbox on Mobile stay open/closed based on your preveious session? Currently it automatically opens each time you log in or change worlds. Poll Question #8 Should a counter be added to the Brimstone Chest found next to Konar on Mount Karuulm to track how many times you have opened it? Poll Question #9 Should the restriction requiring players to assemble a Dark totem before being able to receive more pieces be lifted? Currently you must combine your pieces before any more are dropped from creatures in the Catacombs of Kourend. Poll Question #10 Should players be able to add Blamish oil to the Pearl fishing rod obtained from Alry in Lake Molch to create an equippable Oily fishing rod? Poll Question #11 Should the Expert Mining Gloves effect of occasionally not depleting a rock apply when mining Amethyst? Poll Question #12 Should a Black knight kill counter be added after "Wanted!"? Currently, the Quest log shows the White Knight rank but not how many kills you have achieved. Poll Question #13 Should Saniboch have a right-click "Quick pay" option? Currently players have to go through dialogue to enter the Brimhaven Slayer dungeon. If this question passes, you will also be able to pay automatically by attempting to enter the dungeon if you have enough gold in your inventory. Poll Question #14 Should players have the option to pay Saniboch a one time fee of 1 million coins to have permanent access to the Brimhaven Slayer dungeon without paying fees in future? Poll Question #15 Should animations be added for when a player tips arrows, bolts, darts and adding feathers to shafts? These animations would not affect the rate at which you do the actions, and would not prevent movement or other interactions. Poll Question #16 Should the model for Xeric's talisman be graphically reworked to resemble Xeric's symbol? Currently the model is a recoloured Amulet of manspeak. If this question passes, the mounted version of the talisman in any player's POH would also be updated. Poll Question #17 Should players be able to use noted Molten glass when giving Oldak supplies to create Dorgesh-kaan spheres? Poll Question #18 Should the Karamja gloves earned through the Karamja Achievement Diary be graphically updated to match the rest of the Achievement Diary armour set? Poll Question #19 Should the God spell icons in the standard spellbook be re-coloured to make them more distinct from one another? Poll Question #20 Should Drew and his machine for breaking down Sandstone into Buckets of sand, as described below, be added into game? Drew and his machine To the West of the Quarry a new NPC, Drew, will be added alongside their grinding machine Players hand Drew noted buckets that he will hold for safekeeping Players may then mine the nearby Sandstone and deposit it into the grinding machine (unnoted only) Depositing the Sandstone will add charges to the machine based on the size of Sandstone (8 charges for 10kg, 4 for 5kg, 2 for 2kg and 1 for 1kg) At any point players may talk to Drew in and gain a noted Bucket of Sand at a cost of 1 Sandstone charge, 1 empty bucket and 50gp Discuss this update on our official forums, the community-led 2007Scape Reddit, or the community-led OSRS Discord in the #gameupdate channel. 10. Log in News Home - News Home 6th Birthday and QoL February 21 2019 This week sees the release of OldSchool RuneScape's 6th birthday event and the remaining changes from QoL Combat and Skilling polls! Old School's 6th Birthday Friday 22nd February marks the 6th anniversary of the launch of Old School RuneScape. Its been a fantastic journey, with player numbers gradually growing to their current highs, as the game carved out its own distinct identity within the RuneScape universe as a fully fledged MMO in its own right. Wed like to thank you all for your support over the years; without the passion of its players, OSRS would never have even existed, and without your perseverance, it would have faded out long ago instead of flourishing as it has. Were marking the birthday with a small holiday event. Beneath the Falador Party Room, in the underground museum, the artisans have opened the exhibition of major updates from the last 12 months, and a selection of RuneScapes familiar faces have gathered for a party. The Cook from Lumbridge Castle has appeared in Falador to cater for this party and, in a nod to our oldest quest, hes going to need an assistant. Meet him in Falador, in the museum below the Party Room, and see what he needs. Hint: Bring your own cabbage. Theres a cake in it for you. A big one. Youll also get to unlock all the items and emotes from previous years birthday celebrations. Birthday Livestream Make sure to join us on our Twitch channel tomorrow (Friday 22nd) at 3pm GMT to further celebrate Old School's 6th birthday! We'll spend this time to look back on the history of Old School. You can also expect lot's of stats and information from Mod Mat K's data segment. Merch Store Update To coincide with Old School's 6th birthday, we're adding lots of new merch to our store alongside the livestream! You can expect some new pins and keyrings from AngelsScapes including a commemorative 6th Birthday Gnome Child. Autocasting and Attack Styles Following player requests during Combat week of QoL month, these two changes have been made: Autocast Options Magical weapons which share the same spell selections will now remember previously chosen spells for autocasting. This means you can switch between your various weapons, knowing that the same spell will be ready when you switch back to your staff or wand! Note that your autocast selection will not be remembered in PvP areas. Combat Styles Weapons that share a category (daggers, swords, bows etc.) will now remember the combat style that was used. For example, if you equip a Rune sword and select the Aggressive option before switching to another weapon like a bow and changing style to Accurate, switching back to the Rune sword will retain the Aggressive combat style. Here's an example of how the two changes above may interact to be aware of: If you use the Ancient staff on autocast mode, and are on the Ancients spellbook, you can correctly select an ancients spell. If you then switch to a sword, you come off of autocast, and if you switch back you go onto autocast. However, if you switch to, say, a Fire staff which cannot cast ancients, it correctly switches to a melee mode, this then has changed the combat mode for all staves, so re-equipping that Ancient staff will not put it back into autocast mode. Automated Processes During Skilling week of QoL month, you asked for several processes which require each individual item to be used to happen automatically, so we've made these changes to the processes below. Note that doing each of these manually will still be faster waiting for them to happen automatically to avoid affecting current XP rates. However, the automatic option offers a less click intense method to those who want it. Auto-enchanting jewellery: Enchant jewellery spells will now automatically enchant the next items of the same type once the spell has been cast on the first. For example, a player who selects to enchant a Sapphire ring, will have all other Sapphire rings enchanted over time in their inventory. The three processes below will also continue automatically once started: Each step of creating Serum 207 Filling Watering cans Splitting Coconuts with a hammer Other QoL Changes The Magic skill guide has had its icons updated to be the relevant spell beside it: The following remaining changes from both the Combat and Skilling weeks of QoL month have also been made: Fossil and Ancient Wyverns now drop Volcanic Ash Volcanic ash obtained by mining now scaled to your Mining level. Those go from 1 ash at level 22 Mining to 6 ash at 97 Mining It is now possible to fill Gricoller's can using regular water sources as opposed to only being able to fill it by paying Farmer Gricoller 20 Tithe points Rings of forging are now available to free players and can be bought from other players. Alternatively, you can give Murky Matt in the Grand Exchange 250GP for every Ruby ring you would like to enchant In Other News The PvP rota is switching over to Period B. On the east of the Atlantic, host the Standard PvP world (W25, UK) and the F2P PvP world (W71, UK). On the west of the Atlantic, host the Bounty Hunter world (W19, USA) and the High Risk PvP world (W37, USA). The Protect Item Prayer icon in PvP worlds has been reverted to its previous icon The behaviour of the Altars in the POH Achievement Gallery was changed Some of the wording for the requirements of Mourning's Ends Part I was changed The message received when cracking eggs into an empty bowl was added to the game filter Players are no longer able to plant Box traps near the ladder to the Ourania altar and items dropped in that area will also not appear to other players Some text was added to the Corsair Curse quest journal to explain where Captain Tock's ship is The Ferocious gloves have been added to the Attack and Defence skill guides It is no longer possible to cast Alchemy on Steel key rings A missing hyphen has been added to Ak-haranu's Exotic Shop Opening the Brimstone chest will now give a loot broadcast in the chatbox to say what has been received A typo that appeared when a Potato cactus was diseased was fixed An outfit for an upcoming event has been added to the Costume Room in players' POHs The Molch infiltrator no longer interferes with players trying to use magical attacks or chinchompas on the lizardman shamans outside Molch The yew trees at the southern side of Melzar's Maze have been restored to their previous layout A NPC appears on Veos ship when its moored in Port Sarim to tell players where to find the corsairs Discuss this update on our official forums, the community-led 2007Scape Reddit, or the community-led OSRS Discord in the #gameupdate channel. 11. Log in News Home - News Home Boss Heads and Chambers of Xeric February 14 2019 This week sees the release of increased utility for boss heads and further Chambers of Xeric Chambers changes. Boss Heads As the stacks of boss heads have been building in players' banks, we've received more and more requests to add ways to make them useful, beyond the one-off uses such as re-colouring your Slayer helm. In response, we have made the changes found below to give some additional options. Assembler Effect for the Ranging Cape Those of you who have slain Vorkath enough times to get a Vorkath head drop can now use it on a Ranging cape to give it the same ammo collection rates as Ava's assembler. Until now, the Ranging cape has had the ammo-saving effects equivalent to Ava's accumalator. Bear in mind that you'll need to use Vorkath's head directly onto the cape - using a pre-made Ava's assembler will not work. The Dark Altar You can now sacrifice your excess trophy head drops on Dark Altar to gain Prayer XP. This gives a flat rate of 2,500 XP for each head except Vorkath's which grants 1,000 XP as it's the most common. Using the Dark Altar in this way does not require any Arceuus or other favour and can be done in bulk, hence the reduced XP compared to using Vorkath's head as an Ensouled dragon's head sacrifice - which remains an option. Chambers of Xeric QoL This update also brings more of the changes we proposed in last months Chambers of Xeric Revisited blog. Were still not done with the Chambers; in particular, weve yet to address an issue with the Vanguard detailed in the blog, and players have suggested other things theyd like us to improve about the balancing of the Chambers. In the meantime, the following changes have been made: The Great Olm's fire may now be doused with various vessels of water and the Humidify spell. Clue scrolls received in the Chambers of Xeric now count as an additional loot item. Monster Examine may now be cast on monsters within the Chambers of Xeric. In Other News World Rota Last week we switched the rota to Period A, but we left world 325 open as a second PvP world, as an experiment to see whether thered be enough traffic for two of them. If this had worked out, wed have been able to take worlds 324 and 325 out of the rota, and leave them both open as standard PvP worlds, permanently. However, the splitting of the traffic between the two worlds hasnt worked well, and wed like to end the experiment now. As its Period A, world 324 will remain open as the standard PvP world, and world 325 will no longer be a PvP world until the rota switches to Period B, on Thursday 21st. Items dropped in the Blast Furnace room will now only ever appear to the person who dropped them. Items dropped at the Wintertodt will behave the same way except empty Vials and Jugs which will be destroyed on drop. Any items awarded by the Wintertodt crates which are dropped, will appear to other players after one minute as usual since most of those items have value, and players commented that they enjoy being able to scavenge each others unwanted rewards Unfinished Torstol vials are now able to be used in place of a clean Torstol when making Super Combat potions. Veos has been relocated to the Northern part of Port Sarim - replacing the corsairs who are now found at a dock in Rimmington. The Sheared Ram pub in Lumbridge remains the same as there were far fewer complaints that this does not fit thematically. The strange portal that appeared by Port Sarim was removed. The Regen bracelet's effect no longer works in free to play. A typo during the Forgettable tale quest has been corrected. Scrolls of redirection now correctly check against certain Construction level requirements. Mistakenly redirecting a teleport tablet to where it is currently redirected will no longer consume a Scroll of redirection. Bunnies will no longer stand on top of Tool Leprechauns in the Farming Guild. The shape puzzle interface in the Barrows no longer blocks out the whole screen in resizeable mode. Instead, its filler fades out towards its edges. The Examine text of the Devout boots has been corrected. The Examine text of the Dragon hasta (kp) has been made consistent with other (kp) hastae. An open doorway in Piscarillius can now be walked through. Some floating dirt in the Monkey Madness II caverns now correctly obeys gravity. Some typos in the Wintertodt messaging have been corrected. When collecting items from the take-all section in the gravestone menu, equippable items are now prioritised. This has not changed for Ultimate Ironmen. 12. Log in News Home - News Home QoL Month Poll: Re-runs February 13 2019 QoL Month Week 3: Skilling It's time for our third week of QoL month - Re-runs! This part of QoL month, we're taking a look at previous polled suggestions that didn't quite make it and giving them another chance! We also discuss the options for increasing the rate at which Buckets of Sand may be obtained in further detail. The schedule for Re-runs Week is as follows: In-game poll live by 15/02 In-game poll closes 18/02 Make sure you head over to the Old School Content Suggestions forum, or Reddit (/r/2007scape/) to share your suggestions for Week 3 - Re-Runs!  Poll Questions Poll Question #1 Should the Wilderness ditch be replaced with a barrier that you do not have to click on? This barrier would require confirmation on a warning screen before you may cross to prevent luring. The warning screen may be toggled off via this screen and subsequently reenabled by the Doomsayer in Lumbridge if desired. Poll Question #2 Should spell icons increase in size when you have filters enabled to better fit the Magic tab? This change would only affect non-PvP areas and affect every spellbook: In PvP locations and relevant PvP worlds, spell icons will not resize and automatically revert to the standard sized icons. Poll Question #3 Should a Divine sigil drop be added to the Corporeal Beast's loot table? This would be used to create a Divine spirit shield, the same way the Arcane, Elysian and Spectral shields are. The Divine Spirit Shield will have a 100% chance of reducing incoming damage by 30%, at a cost of draining your Prayer points by 50% of that 30% reduction. Poll Question #4 Should a small miniquest be added to retire Hatius Cosaintus? If this question passes, his functionality would be moved to Gee, one of the farmers found wandering around Lumbridge. Poll Question #5 Should players be able to rearrange the order of the spell icons in their spellbooks? If this question passes, it would only affect non PvP areas: In PvP locations and relevant PvP worlds, the spellbook's spells would revert to their usual positions. Poll Question #6 Should players be able to rearrange the order of the prayer icons in their prayerbook? If this question passes, it would only affect non PvP areas: In PvP locations and relevant PvP worlds, the Prayer book's Prayers would revert to their usual positions. Poll Question #7 Should the model for the Armadyl helmet, when worn by female players, be reworked to more closely resemble the male version? Poll Question #8 Should the Prayer Skill Guide be updated to show the relevant Prayer icons alongside the associated Prayer? It currently displays a generic Saradomin symbol. N.B: This question was missed from last week's poll and is not classed as a rerun poll. Poll Question #9 Should the Dragon defender model be reworked to appear more red than pink? Poll Question #10 Should players be able to click on the Special Attack orb by the minimap to activate their special attack? This would only work outside of PvP areas. In areas that you are unable to do this, the orb would be greyed out rather than its usual colour. Let's Talk About Sand In our recent QoL poll regarding Skilling we offered a solution in an attempt to tackle the current monotony for gathering Buckets of Sand. The current method provides no experience and generally feels unrewarding as a gathering method for the training that then follows. Were happy that people have taken to Giant Seaweed as a viable method for training Crafting (were not the biggest fans of ShopScape) but in turn we created another sandy problem. Weve previously provided Bucket Packs at General stores to make the method of gathering sand viable but previously also mentioned that we would consider a method outside of using buckets on a Sandpits- namely, Sandstorm"?. This previously announced but generally underdesigned spell had several issues when we looked into potentially offering it to players: What requirements does it have? (Quest, Magic level) What resources does it use? (Runes, Sandstone) How can we balance this fairly? (Requirements, resources to cast) Does it mess with other playstyles? (Vengeance being moved isnt something players have previously enjoyed) Quickly, the job grew out of scope for what we could offer for QoL and to top it off had issues we werent sure we could address. We instead brainstormed a different solution which we had originally thought would solve our problems. This brings us to where we are right now Question 7 of our QoL - Skilling Poll: Passing with 83.5%, a clear thirst for some sort of improvement or competing method to gathering Sand was clearly desired. Despite this, we believe that what we offered didnt solve the issues we wished to address and our in-team understanding of the Ironman meta and the impact this would have on it was not aligned. The strength and general convenience of the method was far superior than whats currently available in game. Because of this, the first thing wed like to say is that were sorry. We didnt give enough time to process feedback regarding this change and pushed it to a poll prematurely. This has left us in a position weve not been in before - one where we dont believe we should create something we have polled and has passed the polling process. With that in mind, we will not be creating the solution offered in the recent QoL - Skilling Poll. That leaves us to where we go next. Firstly, wed like to lay out our new goals for what we wish to address with a future poll question regarding sand gathering: Provide an increase to the amount of Buckets of Sand able to be obtained which can scale based on effort At the highest levels of effort, we will attempt to have this method be better than Charter Ship shop hopping (say that 5 times fast) Provide a method more rewarding for time than filling buckets With the above, in turn, require more focus and requirement overall With these points in mind we have the following design which we hope ticks all the boxes above whilst providing a desirable experience for those who wish to do it: To the West of the Quarry a new NPC, Drew, will be added alongside their grinding machine Players hand Drew noted buckets that he will hold for safekeeping Players may then mine the nearby Sandstone and deposit it into the grinding machine (unnoted only) Depositing the Sandstone will add charges to the machine based on the size of Sandstone (7 charges for 10kg, 3.5 for 5kg, 2 for 2kg and 1 for 1kg) At any point players may talk to Drew in and gain a Bucket of Sand at a cost of 1 Sandstone charge, 1 empty bucket and 100gp Overall, we hope this new design is more in line with our original intentions. At 65 Mining, a casual player should be gaining ~30% more sand overall per hour than currently possible at Yanille Sandpits At 99 Mining, a casual player will be gaining a little under double the amount of sand than whats currently available at Yanille Through tick manipulation methods, a player at 65 Mining will be receiving similar rates to casual players with 99 Mining Through tick manipulation methods, a player at 99 Mining methods will be receiving competitive rates a little higher than Charter Ship hopping These numbers are based on mining and subsequently depositing the ore to the machine while not dropping lower valued Sandstone. It will not be possible to deposit noted Sandstone though would be possible to run pre-banked Sandstone back and forth from the Quarry - however, Drew's location does not make this a particularly efficient process. Weve worked directly with some high-level members of the community that this impacts to make a particular effort to ensure what we have offered is the best it can be and to assist in filling in our personal gaps in knowledge. Thank you to them for their time and help! We will be gathering feedback on both the proposed design and any other concerns you all may have with everything discussed. Thanks for all your suggestions and input - let us know what you think about the above in the places below! 13. Log in News Home - News Home QoL Month Poll: Skilling February 07 2019 QoL Month Week 2: Skilling It's time for our second week of QoL month - Skilling! Let us know your thoughts on all the proposed changes below and on the two ideas found in this post! The schedule for Skilling Week is as follows: In-game poll live by 08/02 In-game poll closes 12/02 Make sure you head over to the Old School Content Suggestions forum, or Reddit (/r/2007scape/) to share your suggestions for Week 3 - Re-Runs!  Poll Questions Poll Question #1 Should the Ring of Forging be made available in Free to Play? Currently, the ring is rarely used on members worlds but could be useful to free players. If this passes, Murky Matt at the Grand Exchange will enchant Ruby rings for free players at the cost 250 GP per ring. Poll Question #2 Should jugs & vials dropped in the Wintertodt and Blast Furnace area vanish, rather than appearing on the ground where they get in the way of other click-zones? Regardless of the outcome of this question, items dropped there manually will never appear to anyone except their owner. Poll Question #3 Should there be a visual indicator that the Hespori plant is fully grown at the Farming guild? This would allow players to see the status of the Hespori plant without entering the cave. Poll Question #4 Should the amount of Volcanic Ash mined from each action increase by an extra 1 per 15 Mining levels you have above the requirement (22)? So at 37 Mining, you would receive 2 Volcanic Ash per action, 3 at 52 Mining and so on, up to 6 at 97 Mining. Poll Question #5 Should Wyverns found on Fossil Island drop Volcanic Ash as an uncommon drop? This would be 100 on average for Ancient Wyverns and 40 on average for Long-tailed, Spitting and Taloned Wyverns.   Poll Question #6 Should it be possible to refill Gricoller's can using standard water sources? The can is a reward from the Tithe Farm minigame which holds up to 1,000 "charges" of water. Currently it requires 20 points to refill from empty. Poll Question #7 Should Sandstone be able to be used in place of Buckets of Sand, similar to how Seaweed may be used in place of Soda Ash, when a player casts the Lunar spell "Superglass Make"? 10kg chunks would act as 18 buckets, 5kg as 9 buckets, 2kg as 4 buckets and 1kg as 2 buckets. N.B: The above is intentionally balanced so that 1kg and 2kg pieces of Sandstone produce more buckets of Sand per unit of weight than heavier blocks. This is to reward players with slightly more sand for chiselling down the larger pieces. Poll Question #8 Should the Prayer Skill Guide be updated to show the relevant Prayer icons alongside the associated Prayer? It currently displays a generic Saradomin symbol. Poll Question #9 Should the Magic Skill Guide be updated to show the relevant Spell icons alongside the associated spells for Regular, Ancient, Lunar and Arceuus spells? They currently display more generic symbols. N.B: The Slayer Skill Guide was also raised by players as potentially needing the above changes. Due to the size of Slayer Master chatheads, these would be more problematic to fit into the Skill Guide, so we're leaving that skill alone for now. Poll Question #10 Should Unfinished Torstol vials be able to be used in place of a clean Torstol when making Super Combat potions? No creatures drop these items and the potion created from the unfinished vial is rarely created by players. Most of the unfinished potions are made accidentally via Zahur in Nardah. Poll Question #11 Should "Enchant Jewellery" spells, once the relevant action has started, be automated? The enchanting will only automate for the item that was originally selected to be enchanted: a player who selects to enchant a Sapphire ring, for example, will only have other Sapphire rings enchanted over time in their inventory. This would act the same way as offering Bones to an Altar where manually doing the action would remain faster than the automated process. Poll Question #12 Should splitting Coconuts, once the action has started, be automated? This would act the same way as offering Bones to an Altar where manually doing so would remain faster than the automated process. Poll Question #13 Should pouring Coconut Milk into Empty Vials, once the action has started, be automated? This would act the same way as offering Bones to an Altar where manually doing so would remain faster than the automated process. Poll Question #14 Should filling Watering Cans, once the action has started, be automated? This would act the same way as offering Bones to an Altar where manually doing so would remain faster than the automated process. Poll Question #15 Should creating Serum 207's, once the action has started, be automated? This would act the same way as offering Bones to an Altar where manually doing so would remain faster than the automated process. A more relevant example of this existing for Herblore in particular exists for the creation of Anti-Venom. 14. Log in News Home - News Home X Marks The Spot February 07 2019 This week sees the release of a brand new novice Free-to-play quest, additional Kebos changes and some of the contents from the recent QoL - Combat Suggestions 2019 poll. X Marks The Spot One of the residents of Lumbridge who lives across from the General Store has converted their house into the new Sheared Ram pub. In the pub, you'll find the Mysterious Veos who is looking for a bold adventurer's help to find some treasure. X Marks the Spot is a short, novice Free-to-play quest aimed at players just starting out with other quests such as Sheep Shearer and Cook's Assistant. This is designed to give the Kingdom of Kourend ties to the mainland. Additionally, Veos' boat that takes players to the Great Kourend has been moved to a small dock in Draynor village, making it easier to access and distinguishable from the ships at Port Sarim. Kebos: Post Launch Changes The Hydra Head The Hydra head has been added to the Alchemical Hydra's loot table. You can mount this on the wall of your Skill Hall in your POH at 82 Construction. This will reward the player with 1103 Construction XP as well as 200 XP in Attack, Strength, Defence, Magic and Ranged. This also requires two Mahogany planks and 2 Gold leaves. Alternatively, the Hydra head can be used to recolour the Slayer helm. This requires spending 1,000 Slayer points in the reward shop as it does with other Slayer helm recolours. Konar's Keys Players who are lucky enough to roll a drop on Konar's table during a Konar slayer task will be awarded with a key. These keys are stackable and can be used on the Brimstone chest for a reward. The chest is located on Mount Karuulm beside Konar. Wyrm, Drake and Hydra Bones Wyrm bones now give 50 XP when buried. Drake bones now give 80 XP when buried. Hydra bones now give 110 XP when buried. Posion Protection From Hydras Poison protection from potions like anti-poison and the Serpentine helmet now reduce the damage taken from the Hydra's special poison attack. Dragonfire Protection From Drakes The Drake's fire attack can now be resisted by dragonfire protection such as the Anti-dragon shield. This will work as it does with the metal dragons. Aerial Fishing Players may now trade the Golden tenchs to Alry for 100 Molch pearls. Architectural Alliance As recently polled, players will no longer lose favour in one of the Kourend houses if they perform tasks in a different house, regardless of whether or not they have started Architectural Alliance. As a result, completing Architectural Alliance will instead grant the player a reward lamp, granting 10,000 XP in any skill level 40 and above. If you have already completed the miniquest, you can claim the lamp from Hosa who can be found at the statue of King Rada I outside Kourend Castle. QoL Month: Combat Changes Pest Control KC Counter You can now check your Pest Control scores for each lander tier via a scoreboard. This will only count Pest Control wins achieved after this update. The Serpentine Helm The Strength bonus of the Serpentine helm has been increased from +3 to +5 to make it more viable relative to its cost. In Other News World Rota The world rota is switching back to Period A this week. Although we left it on Period A for four weeks over the Christmas holiday, followed by four weeks on Period B to make up for that, were now returning to the regular two-weekly rota, with the next change due on Thursday 21st February. However, wed like to try a little experiment with worlds 324 and 325. Theyve been taking turns to act as the standard members PvP world, with 324 acting as the PvP world in Period A, and 325 acting as the PvP world in Period B. For the next two weeks, although its Period A, wed like to leave both 324 and 325 open as PvP worlds. If the player traffic is enough to sustain both of these, we can leave them both open indefinitely. However, if the activity cant sustain them both at once, well go back to rotating that theme on the two-weekly rota. An issue with player dying with a looting bag in a F2P world and the bag keeping it's contents was fixed. Now the items are dropped to the ground as they do in P2P worlds. Existing items in unclaimed Looting bags will still be there. The weeds in Morytania's farming patches are no longer healthy, vibrant and full of life. Doomsayer warnings for areas where players can build eternal fires of light are now unlocked automatically when the fires are built if they weren't already. Reaching level 66 in the Hunter skill will now notify you that you can equip Spottier capes. Duke Horacio will no longer repeat himself when greeting players. The collection log will now track "My notes" correctly. Some grammar when fixing Broken Dragon hastae was corrected. The Scythe of Vitur's charges remaining notification will only be highlighted when the player reaches 100 charges remaining. 15. Log in News Home - News Home Feedback Suggestions February 07 2019 Feedback and Suggestions Automating Processes In your suggestions for the Skilling week of QoL month, we saw lots of requests to automate certain processes such as cleaning grimy herbs or decanting coconut milk into vials. Rather than address these individually, we would like to find as many of these cases where the item could be used on its counter part to trigger the rest of the inventory as possible. Each method would be examined to decide how fast it should be - in the case of grimy herb cleaning, this would be slower than cleaning them individually. Let us know any other examples you have on the forums, Twitter, and this Reddit thread. Buckets of Sand Following feedback asking for a faster method to obtain Buckets of Sand, we have considered the options. The first is a Sandstorm spell which would be added to the Lunar spellbook. This would be locked behind the Dream Mentor quest and have a medium level Magic requirement. Note that if this spell were added, all spells after it on the Lunar spellbook would be moved along one place, including Vengeance. Another option is to allow players to convert Sandstone into Buckets of Sand. This could be done by using a hammer on the Sandstone with empty Buckets in your inventory. If you like this idea, let us know how many Buckets of Sand you would expect to gain from each piece of Sandstone. Alternatively, we could look to add Buckets of Sand to the resources gained from Miscellania. Rather than become its own allotted resource, this would be added to the Mining section. If you have any other ideas which are none of the above, let know about those too!
