There has been a recent incident where Caroline was involved in a situation pertaining to money given to her for AAO's clan bank. Contrary to the rumors, She never had the intention of scamming anyone as the disputed amount(5.5m) in question is incredibly small out of the total amount originally owed(90m) and was paid back. I understand that all affected parties in the disputed amount have or are going to receive their monies. Regardless, the lack of transparency of the situation and her communication wasn't the best and as a Sharkbrew Gatekeeper, Caroline should have been more thoughtful in this domain especially when she is representing the community. While this incident is relatively small, we still expect all our ranks to uphold the values that comes as being a community representative, and thus we have demoted Caroline temporarily for 7 days. Caroline has been apologetic over the situation, and she will be making a statement later within the next few weeks.

Desktop View On Mobile IPB3 had a functionality where you can view the full site as you do on a computer. Unfortunately IPB4 took away that feature and instead used responsive design methodology. This unfortunately does not bode well with some users so I had to come up with a solution. Enjoy. As I had predicted a while back, the introduction of OSRS mobile has brought a lot of players back to Runescape. Unfortunately the PvP clanning community has not reaped any of the benefits of the increased played base. It also does not help that the preferred method for killing your rival clan is to starve them of action.. The community is shifting, players are getting older and the odds are stacked heavily against us. If we don't adapt, we might see the end of the community as we know it What can we do about this? Shakbrew will be capturing a greater population of the singles pking community with an update set to launch in late Oct/Nov. We want to bring more people into the competitive community by slowly introducing them into our environment and giving them a chance to pick things up slowly without the stress of a clan leader breathing down their necks. Community Watch List I do like to clarify that the purpose and intent of the watchlist is not to police the community, nor does it impose any punitive measures on members of the community. The sole objective is to alert clans and members highlight scumbags who are working against the interest of the entire community. This means that one of the factors we look for is if multiple clans are victims of said person. We are not interested in 1v1 feuds, inter-clan disputes, intra clan disputes or shit stemming from rivalries. This Watch List is also not designed to instigate doxing of said individual as we will be starring out key identifying details of the individuals. It will be strictly a list where people with known information can do a reputation search of the person they are trading/working with. Here's an example of how this system works: Sharkbrew will post a community watch list showing said evidences while starring key aspects of his name so that anyone looking to dox him would not have his information John doe****on However if a potential trader sees that he is trading with a John Doedinson will then look up his name in our database and be able to match with "John doe****on" Why Are we Doing This? Perhaps some of you feel it is not the role of Sharkbrew to get involved, and you are absolutely right. Sharkbrew should not need to get involved, but seeing the absolute inaction as demonstrated here: that it took nearly 5 clans and many months before this individual was finally exposed- it would be an absolute travesty is nothing is done.. because nothing has been done before. If you disagree with the process, feel free to make suggestions, but if you believe that such low life scum should be allowed to roam free simply because it portrays a "bad image" of community, please feel free to click the logout button and go fuck yourself. New Skin It's been a while since Sharkbrew had a makeover, and admitting the current default skin is way too large. Luckily I was able to find a dark blue theme which seems to fit the bill, so please feel free try out the new test skin and give me some feedback. If you guys like this skin template as a base, I will purchase a skinning service from Calum when we move to IPB 4.3 Ad-hoc Community Events/Events Calendar Taking some inspiration from the positive feedback from the P2P friday topic, and speaking to some members of the main community like @Chris-, I come to realize that sharkbrew should help out with organizing ad-hoc community events. So I have given Ambassadors access to create events that would appear in the side bar of Sharkbrew. This I hope will facilitate events advertising process. As Ambassador is strictly for high ranks of clans, I also created an @Community Events Manager group. This group gives members access to creating same events in the Calendar. Betting Sharkbrew has been at the forefront of community site innovation, and I would like to (re)-introduce the latest and improved version of Betting system that previously existed on older version of Sharkbrew Our betting system allows members of the community to bet on any major clanning event, and under this new system, we can even bet on more than 2 options at once! How does it work? Sharkbet is a betting system that is based on mutual betting pool where all the bets are pooled together. The entire pool is shared among the winners and each winner's take is dependent on how much he/she had bet, proportioned to other winners' bets. How Does Betting Benefit Me? As a member, winning bets will earn you sharkpoints which then can be used to further represent your clan on Sharkbrew! In the phase 2 release of Sharkbet, we will include a highscore table showing which members of the community are good at predicting outcome of events How Does Betting Benefit My Clan? Having your event listed on the betting system exposes your clan's event to the entire community. Suddenly, people would be anticipating outcome of your event, and whichever side the coin lands, ultimately the exposure is free advertisement and exposure for your clan, and the best part is, if you win, people will be talking about your clan and the winnings they earned for days to come. Furthermore, if done correctly, clan leaders can use this system as a motivation tool for members to push themselves harder. Psychology behind betting is well studied, and they give a euphoric reaction to participants, winners or losers alike. Which Events Could Be Added? All preps/fullouts CWA events can be added. We want to assure that all clans have even odds of winning COTM, without punishing or favoring big pulling clans to much. Penalty Points/Feeding: 1 Prep vs 2 Clans per day max 4 Preps vs 1 Clan per Month Every Prep After 4 Preps: (0 Points) Preps must be posted within 24 hours (Do not forget the Discord/Teamspeak3 logs!) Fullout: We want to promote action. To stimulate that fullouts take place, we give +5 points for the winner of the fullout and +3 points to the loser. Preps that break the rules as agreed on by both clans. MUST keep logs of rules or else dispute will not count. Must provide valid proof such as Teamspeak3/Discord Logs, Pictures, Videos etc. Remember that we rely on the information you provide, and if that lacks so will the quality and outcome of your dispute. Other clans can dispute preps they did not participate in. This is due to wins/losses affecting the COTM bracket, and so, other clans. However, they must have valid proof. No hearsay, fingers pointing towards coincidences or propaganda.

Castle Wars Community CWC is a niche community where professional players with the highest level of skill at playing the castle wars mini game compete with each other in various opt(5v5s/10v10s) castle wars game. I could write up a book describing the sheer awesomeness of competitve castle wars play, but words will not do them justice, so i'll let their video introduce you: This video demonstrate the dexterity and precision these players have to learn in order to become part of the CWC, and I was totally blown away when I first saw it trending on Reddit back in 2017. Their community is extremely small(50-60 people), and they don't have the avenue to reach out to potential players who have the right aptitude and basic skills to become a professional CWC player. 2007scape gives them the views, nothing else more. Therefore I felt that Sharkbrew may be able to offer the CWC the exposure needed as our community is primarily PvP based, where the fundamentals of movement, clicking, precision, and a modicum level of intelligence is required before you could PvP with reasonable success. Hey, Community I have been away for awhile and I’ve been busy with life. I have decided to step down from Sharkbrew and ultimately interact with the community minimally. I have decided to focus on project irl and put my 100% in those. I had fun times within the community and getting to know some of you made my experience a unique one. This is a Community is a unique one in where we all have our own individual goals within this game but at times will get together if we have a common enemy. Our community has its moments where it rather starve each other due to personal issues with certain ranks in clans or for gain. The ups and downs are what kept myself going. It was interesting to sit down with a lot of you about these issues. You guys allowed me to help host community events and settle some differences between several clans. I appreciated that and it made some differences within the community. Thanks a lot to those who helped Sharkbrew for the better. Prizes The 5m gp entry fee every clan/team pays to enter the default category will be distributed between the top 3 placers in the tournament. The winner will also receive a custom signature showcasing their win. BrewCup Extra Information The tournament is double elimination for the default category and single elimination for the oldschool. It will be a short tournament. It could possibly be done in a weekend but to be more flexible we will run it for one-two weeks. If you are signing up, it is important you are up to date with the schedule. Respected Rank We have taken multiple measures at decreasing the number of troll accounts and toxicity on Sharkbrew. We have increased our moderation and taken zero tolerance of trolls that exhibit troll-like behavior. However, we realized that there is no incentive for those who actually put time behind their thoughts and we wish to reward posters who are mature, active, and generally contribute to healthy discussions. We as a rank team has decided to bring back the Respected rank into our structure. This rank will be awarded to those who are posting threads and posts with maturity and encouraging others to do so as well. With this we hope we can bring back a lot more serious discussions on Sharkbrew. Overview With very successful signups for the main tournament having a total of 18 clans/teams enter I bring you the first round matchups. Each clan/team will have 3 weeks to complete each category they have entered due to the amount of categories total that passed in the tournament. Summer Promotions are my favorite as the community gets very active during these times. This is a new era of promotions and major changes are being pushed within the staff. Keep a close eye on these promotions. Counselor Break Break has been with Sharkbrew since 2017. Since his promotion, He has strive above and beyond to ensure our community wouldn't go into toxic behavior. Break as a newcomer mediator, he sat down with ranks of communities to help our understanding of why our community was in dark times. During LPC times, he called out clans on their toxic behavior being of which bringing mains. Break has good work ethic and he has been one of the few over the years to think outside of the box. Break had been pushing Discord for a matter of months before the release under Sharkbrew. Congratulations! Mediator Brap - Final Ownage Elite Brap will ensure unbiased decisions are being made even if he has to put up a sign saying its being done. Before his Gatekeeper promotion, he provided insight ways for Sharkbrew to grow into a better community site. Every month, you will see comments from Brap implying for better updates from the staff and posting his own. We have cleaned out our Ambassadors List. We need ambassadors from all clans this includes all brackets of pure clanning. We have planned tourneys and events for the future. Ambassadors rank is a way to contact ranks from other clans this includes the forums and discord. The current ambassadors use Sharkbrew Discord to look for events (preps,pkris,minis) etc. The Ambassadors system will be run by @Brock @Kim and @Andy.
