lpc were always seen as the step between community and people who had never experienced clanning. They would usually end up massing bunch of people, those people would eventually becoe more interested. Then the teams/clan built on upon them or they dissolved dispersing all their recruits into the clanning world. Whereas some more ambitious members of that dissolved clan/team opened a new one. The cycle repeated. It is a cycle that was broken with coming of eoc and OSRS, especially when OSRS became only p2p. Very few want to stay below cb69 pure. Most of them would simply use it as a chance and a stepping stone to new battlegrounds that other clans not part of LPC's offer.

lpc's nor mpc's were never long term, there were always abnormalties but usually a clan circled around few people and after they left the clan ended up closing. In the big picture those clans served as a middle ground to introducing new pures to the clanning scene, good examples were clans like PiC or whatever lpc's there were who massed up 50 cb 44s and went battling in maze almost daily. They drafted the majority of pures into the clanning scene. Without actual f2p you will not experience such influx again, nobody wants to do it and pay for it on top of that.
