Hello members of sharkbrew, we have decided to host a max cwa 6v6 tournament for the community.

This tournament will be a knock-out tournament, best of 5 rounds and every round will be attack on gate drop.

Sign up date will end on April 3rd, any clans that have not signed up by 10pm EST on that date will not be entered.

The start date of the tournament will be Monday April 10th, on that day we will release the KO map so you can find out who you are fighting.

RULES

Any clan that has not sat to 6 fighters 10 seconds before gate drop the other team is allowed leave the portal and a rechallenge will be done. 

It is going to be attack on gate drop every round, if you are not ready then that's on you.

Anyone who disconnects or loses there connection mid-fight that is on you and not for a mod to sort.

Anyone who is avoiding there opponents an automatic advance to the next round will be implemented or as we advance through the stages of the tournament the clan that was knocked out during the last round by the avoiding clan will take there spot. (BUT DISCRETION BY MODS CAN CHANGE THIS) 

If both clans are being unreasonable a mod will determine a fight date and time.

Any invites from other clans is not tolerated at all, it will be an instant DQ from the tournament if you are found to be bringing invites. If a mod is questioning certain players and you are refusing to give information regarding that user an investigation will happen. (ANY RANKS OR LEADERS BEING UNREASONABLE YOU WILL BE DQED)

Plateau - Runescape Pure League

First things first, congratulations to Element (Finn, Doyph, Giga, Wessel, Jake, Runs, Andreas) on winning our first tournament - their video can be found here.

With our first formal tournament being a huge success, being one of the most entertaining tournaments to both watch and play in quite some time, we wanted to again push the bar and do different again to try and bring the community together.
Instead of the normal tournaments where some matches would be predetermined, we wanted to put together an event where it really felt like anyone interested in playing could have an impact on their team and have most things be evenly matched as they can be.
Everything down to the premade team identities is done to encourage putting aside all things outside of the league and playing for something independent of any other activities. Fun and competition are the focus.

8 captains draft their team (6 each for rosters of 7) from a pool of players that register from all over the community in a streamed draft, then navigate a 2-3 week regular season where every team plays each other once (best of 5 rounds).
"Regular season" matters, with the top 2 seeds moving onto the playoffs with a first round bye, while the bottom 2 seeds won't even make it into the playoffs.
Playoffs are single elimination, best of 5 rounds.
At least half of the regular season matches will be streamed on our twitch, with the entirety of the playoffs being streamed.
Teams will fight for a current prize pool of 400m, but we're actively looking for ways to get it to 1b+ by the finals to match everyone's effort. (Sponsorship opportunities for server and stream media are available, please contact me if you're interested)

We thank Sharkbrew for allowing us to cross-promote to raise awareness and hopefully encourage more people to register.
Our hopes is that this is a fun way for not only existing players to have a bit of consistent action to start off the summer, but for players that don't get as much time in environments where they are encouraged to improve to do so as well.

There were a lot of issues that didn't lead to a conducive environment between the teams and the tournament hosts. After going through with team leaders, I have concluded that while paige was a victim of excessive personal flame, however some of it were direct response to her mismanagement of the tournament. Team leaders isolated the various unprovoked events and have dealt with them accordingly:

Spark has been booted from his team

Blissful apologized

If teams/clans are found to have booted members in their roster, we will automatically DQ the entire clan/team from the tournament.

The tournament will now resume under ML lock

A couple of weeks ago, sharkbrew quarterbacked a clanbrew tournament with the goal of maintaining activity in the clan wars arena. Unfortunately throughout the tournament period, @Kimhad been approached by members of the tournament demanding that she handle the various tournament issues:

team members being subbed midway into the tournament

rules not being enforced equally:

Reason why they were getting DQ'd and what was defined as irl flame

DQ for certain team members

No DQ for others:

excessive personal attacks towards tournament hosts:

Dozens of messages in SB discord attacking Paige and her family

and

non administrative parties affecting integrity of the tournament:

tournament members being baited in dms by non-staff members

It is unfortunate that while clanbrew originally hosted this tournament, they didn't even get a mention in dull's sig

tournament members being privy to tournament rank decisions

As a result of the aforementioned shitshow, I have demoted the following ranks:

Paige - leaking staff logs to members of the community

Wouxi - For creating the fake victory signature for dull to enable him to mock other tournament members. Award concept is similar to our end of the year award to spite the GFXER.

Additionally, I will personally be taking charge of this tournament from now onward

With the release of the latest announcement from clanbrew ranks, they have decided to terminate the tournament midway leaving quite a lot of unhappy tournament participants who are asking Sharkbrew to take over.

Unfortunately this issue is not quite so straightforward as there are creases we have to iron out before we can take over fully:

Some of clanbrew's tournament rules may appear excessive however we could see that their original aim was to create a healthier tournament that didn't reek of toxicity.

January 14th, Sharkbrew came together for the first of many incredible community based events this year: North America vs Europe. With some heavy debate on who actually won the last NA vs EU event both sides came ready to fight for glory within the pure community, and bragging rights that will last until the next event occurs. With Europe dominating Round 1, North America came in undeterred and  motivated Round 2. With some good tanking and legendary calling from PX Tyler,  Tyendinaga, and Quode, North America battled their way to victory Round 2 to tie the score up 1-1. Round 3 was the deciding match and North America and Europe were both determined to leave the arena victorious. North America through some more good tanking, a stellar wrap, and great calling ended up dominating Round 3 to reign victorious!

 Shout-out to everybody who made this event and took it seriously, the callers for each side (@Quode, PX Tyler, and @Tyendinagaas well as @nawe, UTC, and Jokuyurt for taking time out of their day to make this happen) as well as all the other Sharkbrew staff members who helped organize this event. As a staff the Sharkbrew team is super happy with the outcome and are excited to host another one. Expect another event announcement in the coming months for a 2nd NA vs EU event later this year

Holidays are around the corner. My favorite time of year for clanning is seeing events related to holidays being set up.  Some of you may have never experienced a high-op snowball fight, so I posted some examples at the bottom of how one is conducted and the different opts in all of the videos. 


Last Clan/Team Standing FFA in the Wilderness. We would have bots scattered around the area of the fight to conclude the winner.


There is a high chance that clan leaders may not want to partake, but, if the community wants to take part in events. Any of them can be set up similar to EU Vs USA.

Who can join?

Pure clans and pure teams in the pure community.  

1. You must provide a memberlist of your  participants (None of your members may multi-team in this tournament). A minium list of 7 players, which you must stick to.
    

Rules

- Each team will fight each in a best of 5 rounds all pkri
- ITEMS NOT ALLOWED: The new staffs, Rapier, Kodai, venom, dspear, blade of saeldor, halberds, inq mace.
- Will be using a league table, updated daily. Will be making a disc.
-Each set won is 1 point, if a tie happens, we'll review which clan won the most rounds.
- 25 Defence gear 
- 25 defence pures only if you have guys who have 26 defence by mistake that's also allowed
- If a team closes, forfeits the tournament or gets disqualified during this event all there wins and points will be awarded to the losing teams they have beaten and auto wins for clans they haven't faced yet.
