  1. That comes down to the leaders of the clans who never prep and their members. No matter who you ask, X clan is afraid to prep them. I simply don't buy it. If you are a member of one of those clans then apply pressure to your ranks to prep more/prep certain clans. On the other hand, there are a handful of clans (Apex comes to mind first) who actively prep 2+ times a week. As I state above, it boils down to a few incompetent/cancerous regimes.
  2. You're dutch and have 1000 posts on this website LOL
  3. I think we can all agree the "LOL you play runescape in <insert month/year>" has not been good banter for at least half a decade now. If anything the idea someone who doesn't play would waste their "valuable" time on this website makes it even worse.
  4. The state of the community has increased significantly post HPC. There are still cancerous regimes in place who care more about their narrow views than the community as a whole, but that is more or less unavoidable. We are now at a cross roads where everyone 's 1 def pures are beyond maxed so people are getting bored and training attack/prayer at a higher clip. The voices have begun to both whisper and yell for 20+ defense. I believe it is of unparalleled importance that we shun these voices or we will effectively kill our community. It is absurdly hard to bring in 1 def edge pures to a 39 def scene. Runescape as a whole has seen some life support in the form of jagex making mostly competent decisions for the first time in a long while. It makes the most sense for us as a community to keep the mith, addy and rune (SMH) away and promote our fights to as wide an audience as we can. Most people would love the competitive aspects of our unique pure scene if only they knew it existed and if we could curve some of the most cancerous individuals among us. The individual skill level is miles ahead of previous eras and for most of the summer almost every clan was capable of pulling 45+ at some points. There was one sunday this summer where EOP, FOE, UB, Apex, IR, MF, FI, and SUP ALL pulled between 45-65. Clans like IR, PX, MF and even SF have done a solid job at adding a couple 100+ new pures to the scene that had never clanned before. The more new blood and less recycling of members we as a community can bring in, the better.
  5. I think 39 def would be the last nail in this communities coffin. Additionally, I suspect there would be a handful of clans who would not get defense even if one or some other clans did.
  6. As the guy who makes lists, I agree it is pretty straight forward. I suggested a random start just to prevent clans from bitching about their placement. I still believe the RAW list would work and it could even bring xLPCs more into the fold on the low end. In your extension you need an element of BEST not just most active. Yes, I get that and suggested RAW type idea as an extension to COTM. I disagree entirely with your second statement. Snowflake leaders do not fight because they don't have too. If you have a list that outlines who is #1 then if the champs decline to defend their title they lose it. A RAW style list would actually force clans into fighting unlike your cauliflower declaration system and as a result further boost activity.
  7. Were you not around for the Raw List? It is a pretty simple concept. Start with a randomized list and in order to move up you have to beat the clan ahead of you. If they decline to fight then you jump them. Make it so you can declare 2 spots above you (example: 3 could challenge 1). This could probably go hand in hand with another COTM system (extra points for Raw fights?), but would surely be an upgrade even by itself. I would do lists for F2P and P2P. Back in the day there was a matched and a fullout option, but I doubt majority of clans these days would embrace any fullouts. I understand the rues, but they are pretty rough around the edges. Especially for WCOTM. Do we really think a hypothetical clan who posts 8 losing topics for weekends, but kills 1-2 mains a day during the week is really the WCOTM? Even if the weekend topics were not "losing" topics, anyone can run up the score with small opt east drags trips. As for the declarations, a system where at least 75% of the fights never happen is flawed right? Clans are out there farming points by declaring on CD in P2P and MF in F2P lol P0ke outlined a great start for us 6 years ago on a re-posting of the original idea check it out here: https://www.sharkbrew.com/topic/16641-raw-list-re-posted/
  8. What is your point? The Feb WCOTM rules were brown sticky stuff too lol. Nor did they address any of the issues I outlined before?
  9. I'll give you all a good start: COTM = Bring back a raw list type system rather than empty declarations for points, farming wins off low tier clans and all of the top clans rarely fighting. WCOTM = Weekend trips, the most important events we as a community do, are irrelevant under the current system. As is, WCOTM mostly promotes losing topics and small group pk trips where you kill 1-2 randoms.
  10. So can we fix COTM and WCOTM now with all these new brains? Plenty of better ideas floating around than the current systems.

  13. For the third time, that is not a logical argument. You cannot set that level of burden based off "Most if not all clans come into contact with eachother through pkris, crashes etc". Most does not equal ALL. There is a possibility that Clan A and Clan B were NEVER in the same world during a trip and if Clan B made a dispute topic about Clan A then you, as a staff, would have gone forward with it. Just because MOST clans interact during normal trips, does not mean that ALL clans do. It is okay for clan wars and the wilderness to have different guidelines, but they cannot have different guidelines because of the faulty assumption that all clans will interact with each other during a weekend trip. That argument simply does not hold water.
  14. Yes, but the underlying logic you applied as to why the wilderness and clan wars are different does not hold water. If you want to separate them, power to you, but at least have a logically sound argument for when these problems arise. So now if you go back and re-read my post that starts with the wilderness you will understand why said point is valid in light of the context provided by this post.
  15. I could be mistaken, but I do not believe Hotkeying has ever been a part of a clan who won COTM. You should do your research before you make blanket assumptions.
  16. You should read my prior post as my first was the only replyable post according to you. You should read all of what I have to write before you make any assumptions. I pick my words carefully.
  17. Not exactly. As a staff, you would go forward with a wilderness dispute even if Clan A and Clan B had zero interaction during that trip. In fact, you would not even ask if there was interaction; the evidence would just be reviewed per usual. With that being said, it does not hold water that non interacting clans are barred from bringing disputes in clan wars. Despite cape switches being insignificant in my book, the underlying point has some merit. If you want to bar non participants from raising disputes (personally not sure why you would want to bar them), then you should clearly outline that for all scenarios. Hiding behind the idea that they probably would have interacted in the wilderness is not a strong enough case to justify the position you laid down.
  18. I think cape switches are cauliflower and a mostly non-factor. However, the argument you are making in regards to the Wilderness vs. Clan Wars is like saying if you see someone get mugged in the city you can report it to the police, but if you see someone get mugged in the suburbs then only the person who got mugged can report it to the police.
  19. Please do not assume that outlining how cauliflower a rule is means I have to be in the clan who said rule change would benefit as such an assumption would be wrong. Further, in what world does it make sense that you could not post an aftermath the afternoon following a late night pk trip? You must not be very busy in the real world if you are asking people to make topics at 1-2 AM in order to get points for a horribly run signature contest. and while we're on the topic of how horribly designed WCOTM is, let me point out that you created a system where official weekend trips account for virtually nothing and all any clan has to do to win WCOTM is farm topics of them clearing 1-2 guys at east drags.
  20. Great to see new clans enter the community. Keep it savage.
  21. I think it is at least worth noting that mains and a cape switch are on two entirely different levels of cheating. None the less, you have a fairly valid point in regards to third parties ability to dispute.
  22. Just because the rule has been in place for months doesn't make it any less cauliflower btw
  23. What a cauliflower rule. It is not unreasonable to stay up fairly late pking and not making the topic until you get home from work/school the next day.
