  1. Looking forward to the next installment in the saga of Bloody Vikingz
  2. The effects will be astronomical for the pure community. Right now we're sitting on the edge of the first major "boom" period of the second generation of pure clanning, and if Oldschool goes F2P that would be the catalyst to push the community over the edge. To put it into some sort of perspective, there has been 3 'golden ages' in my opinion of pure clanning throughout history. When Old School came it was clear alot had changed, with most of the first generation of pure clanners (2004-2012) had moved on, and the younger, more fresh second generation (IE, the people now) taking their place with new clans. Even the older clans changed their staff/leadership to better reflect this new generation. This is the first 'major' boom period for these guys. Right now pulls are finally skyrocketing back up with clans pulling 70+ consistently for the first time in ages, clans such as FOE and TLP are reopening and of course there are a bunch of successful new clans like ZU/SUP/LT/RD and the LPC's that are thriving such as Trauma/Imperial/Olympus/Chaos that exemplify the new generation. With F2P coming, it can only build on the foundation that has been built from the start of old school until this point. I can see lots more players coming back and bolstering the pulls of the existing 15+ clans into previously unseen pulls of old school. In terms of new clans, real LPC's will spring up organically if the community is in the right place and will form the foundation for the future. To conclude, I genuinely believe that this will allow the 'old school' generation to see a golden age akin to that of the first three boom periods with new clans and an influx of new players into the community. How they'll handle this is to be seen, but time will tell.
  3. Around a year or so they invited Ben (And a bunch of other representatives of fan sites) to Jagex HQ in Cambridge, can't remember the specific details but Ben couldn't go cos of prior obligations. He asked if I could go but I was busy at uni and couldn't really take the time off, and whilst trying to find someone who COULD attend the fan site closed down. Not sure what ever came of it but it would have been a good platform to discuss issues relating to pures specifically. Guess we will never know unless they organise another one and ask again.
  4. Good job Trauma, proving you've got the quality. Nice job to both clans on the good pulls and the successful prep. Don't let this slow you down Imperial, keep practicing, realise what you need to work on, and come back from this stronger.
  5. Fire strike wars were always a go-to thing back in the day for holidays (IE, Xmas or Easter or whatever) when PK'ing wasn't viable, pretty fun thing to do. The damage isn't high enough for KO's and usually people tank the majority of their food. I'd recommend them as its pretty difficult to take them deadly seriously and promotes a bit of laughter outside of winning/losing whilst working on organisation.
  6. Good job both clans, great job on the win Chaos.
  7. Nice job on the win Trauma, looked like both clans did well with pulls and having a respectable prep. Hopefully you can get more preps with some of the other LPC's after this. Keep it up
  8. Already a topic for this sort of thing http://www.sharkbrew.com/community/index.php?/topic/2681-top-pure-clan-list/
  9. I really don't understand why FOE are waiting until February the 1st or whenever to reopen. In terms of the pure world and the amount of things that happen in a month, do you realise how far away that is? Its the same thing other clans do when deciding they are going to open/reopen or whatever, set a date WEEKS AND WEEKS away. It makes no sense at all. To set up forums? Fairly sure FOE's have been up since their closure. To recruit members? FOE had 100 on TS and pulled over 50 to their prep, haha. The mind boggles. FOE had the momentum ball in full effect with the out-of-nowhere prep win over EOP, with the entire community being interested to see how it would develop and the actual members/staff of FOE being excited and reinvigorated. If they said "1 week we r reopening" after that prep win, they could have capitalized on the momentum and cannon balled themselves straight to the top of the pure world in convincing fashion. By the time February 1st rolls around, the nostalgia and feels of reopening FOE will have worn off for the community at large and the memberbase of FOE, not to mention the staff who admittedly closed FOE last time because the pure community is seemingly toxic and RS is a game going no where. Do I think this will stop them being a strong clan or even the top clan? Not necessarily, hopefully theres a good staff in place that can take care of it but I think the quicker they reopened the more chance of that nostalgia and momentum providing inspiration for the staff team to get FOE into a top position from day 1, rather than the momentum and nostalgia wearing off by the time Feb rolls round and people not being completely dedicated to that goal. You have to believe that other clans will use this month to prepare for the opening, which will mean FOE having a much more difficult time dethroning clans like EOP/Fi from the top spots. Either way, good luck to them I hope they succeed as it could really spice up the pure world if it goes well. I'm rooting for you guys.
  10. Good picture and good job Trauma looks like you had a great trip.
  11. Whilst I obviously don't agree with being ranked #2 (see; my list) Always nice to see an outside perspective on stuff, but take it from me we didn't "STRUGGLE" or exhaust ourselves trying to compete with MM, haha. Whilst it was fairly clear MM were always gonna come out on top, E's growth happened so organically that there wasn't a struggle at all as we went from 20 pulls, to 40 pulls, to 60 pulls, to 80 pulls, to 100 pulls, to 120 pulls over the course of the year without much effort. It's only when that happened that MM decided to recall all their ex members/forum guests or whatever to compete with us, not vice versa. We were beating MM consistently for around a month and a half at 100+ vs 100+ fights, before they began to outpull us by a significant number and dropped E back down to #2. Epidemic closed not because we were 'exhausted' or slumping or anything, hell, 2 days prior to our closure we pulled 65 people to a midweek 1 hour prep vs CP and were still hitting 80+ on weekends. Rather as a staff team we realized the futility of continuing onwards now that we had made a mark and achieved what we set out to achieve, namely #1 F2P. Bob, Jib, and Plode quit immediately following the closure and have never since returned. Most of the staff were already old enough that Runescape didn't have that same allure, so there really was no alternative. The reason Epidemic is known to be a 'top' clan is because it reopened in the dying days of the PCL era just prior to the wilderness being returned to us, and in under a year rose to contend with clans that had been open for 5 years at that point and mark out new territory in F2P clanning. Epidemic became the most organised pure clan of all time at that point, the fastest rising pure clan of all time, and really innovated things such as calling, rivalries, etc. Pulling the highest amount of pures the pure community had ever seen pulled in a trip at that point and beating MM matched in the wilderness for in excess of a month really upped our credentials, but the fact is for the entirety of Epidemics lifespan it was a dominant clan in every aspect. Whilst dethroning MM for that short period is certainly something that contributes towards the legacy, the fact is MM were fairly irrelevant for the majority of that year. Not in the sense that they sucked, them and FOE were duking it out for number 1... Week in, week out. For months. And months. Whilst that was occurring, the bloated, exciting, and competitive mid level scene included clans like E, EOP, TLP, DP, Dv, IR, Fi, and occasionally M, Ascendency, and Cy ALL contending with each other, trading wins, having clusters and fair fights. These clans would come across each other at least once every PK trip, as opposed to the usually inconclusive clusterfucks between MM/FOE/Mains. I guess relevancy is in the eye of the beholder, but I like to think that E's legacy of being a top clan was sculpted in those crazy days and crazy fights, and only embellished by the dethroning of MM months later.
  12. I see what this topic is intended to do, but keeping it realistic for a second it depends how it goes in the next few weeks. Addressing the elephant in the room; EOP beat RD in a 30 min prep recently and as such, EOP with the huge 90 people pulls and the wins at matched proved they are the dominant F2p clan at the moment with the untouchable pull and the dominant matched game. As it stands, it's up to RD/ZU to prove they are better than EOP rather the vice versa simply because EOP are the best clan around at the moment and anyone with any sense can see that. Could ZU or RD do that? Sure they have the potential, both are great clans, but results speak louder than anything else and until the results come in, EOP are crowned at the top. RD in particular have beat Fi matched recently which is an amazing accomplishment in its self, but eruption of pures DID beat RD in the last fight they had. I would love to see more because I truly believe RD could beat EOP on their day, just as EOP could beat RD on their day, so it would be nice to have a couple more fights to get a decisive victor because honestly, id love to know who is the best clan out of both of them. Next time, who knows what could go on. But right now until the next prep happens EOP is sitting at the top of the pile and its up to everyone else to make the effort to dethrone them, not vice versa. As a neutral in the entire thing I am looking forward to seeing what happens
  13. I know you mean well with this topic, but it's fairly evident your not quite educated on how pure clans work. First off, why the hell have you made a unique account called "facepalm" to make this topic? Are you scared of revealing your real identity because people will flame you? Wahaha just give the real name, what clan are you in? What name do you use in that clan? Don't be ashamed I hope you see the irony in you using the name facepalm because I'm facepalming my head through the desk right now. By the way it's spelt divided you fucking loser haha But anyway onto the point of the topic in the current LPCs not having the "leadership" to take their clans to the next level, this is runescape buddy anyone's got a fair shot at it, all you need is 40 dedicated people and you've got a clan that can challenge for #2 with the intentions of building for #1. I agree with you in the respect that the LPCS currently are too short sighted to see the opportunity that has presented its self, but I'm hoping at least a couple carry through to MPC when all is said and done. We will have to see what develops outside the holiday season, but I really hope they step up, which I'm confident at least a couple will. It will be exciting to see it unfold anyway, if not a bit infuriating. Good luck to them all.
  14. Good job RD, Fi are a difficult clan to beat and it looks like you did it convincing fashion. Looking forward to the rematch with EOP
  15. All the stars are aligned, the fact that arguably the strongest of the LPC's in Trauma (as well as others such as Omega) are suggesting that they're not going to try and expand to MPC means that other clans that DO want to become MPC's can take advantage of that. Its too early to tell as we're in the holiday season of Xmas and New Year, but hopefully as January comes around these LPC's settle into some sort of rhythm and routine of preps/weekend trips it'll become a little clearer as to who can make the jump.
  16. My personal highlight was being involved in the LPC pushes, the first one was integral at that point as there were 3 or 4 clans remaining, and really contributed to the growth of the community and worked excellently. The 2nd one has a tonne of potential right now heading into the new year. In a year where nothing positive happened of any real significance, its a step in the right direction and proof that good things can still happen in this community.
  17. Good job EOP, always a great feeling to prove a point in a prep. Keep it up

What does any of this even mean? I'm sure it was hilarious in your head but in reality it misses the mark. Any more of this retardation and I'm gonna ban you
  19. The ones that are public that I know about so far are; Conquer Olympus Trauma Curse Chaos Impact Omega Remedy Not bad to say trips haven't begun for most of these clans, hopefully a few more join em when trips become regular.
  20. The clanning community has been far weaker than it is now; namely before the first batch of LPC's came about when there was only FOE, Fi, EOP, and CP remaining who were actively having trips and what not. The last LPC scene lasted about 4 or 5 months as being "true" LPC clans until the HPC/MPC clans joined em, but the LPC scene having a short life span isn't a bad thing as them becoming MPC/HPC eventually is always the goal for a low level clan. It has to be. It isn't too much of a problem that it is similar ranks opening and closing, Zu and Sup's leadership who can be considered the 'standouts' from the last batch of LPCs both had various prior clans that the leadership or memberbases were a part of (TD/Malice/Mercy, and PD/EF/Hostility respectively) until something finally clicked and they became successful. The ideal state of the community is when an LPC scene doesn't need to be manufactured and nurtured, and this comes about when there are more clans of varying 'power', especially towards the bottom of the rankings so that if a new clan opens they instantly have people to fight. If a single LPC clan opened without others alongside it, in the community right now they'd be singling themselves out and life would be very difficult for them to grow and expand, which is why theres been extra effort to make sure an LPC scene can be created to help all the clans who will be competing with each other. Right now theres Conquer Trauma Olympus Curse Omega Chaos Remedy Impact So hopefully once trips begin for these clans, things fall into place.

This seems to have ran its course
  22. Well, its hard to make a list thats easily compared to other lists because people base these sorts of lists on a tonne of different factors. Everyones lists will be pretty different. I'm gonna make a F2P list based mainly on peaks but also overall influence and impact on the f2p scene as whole, as well as member/leader quality (including 'potential' based off that) 1.) Mayhem Makers 2.) Eruption of Pures 3.) Fatality 4.) Final Ownage Elite 5.) Epidemic 6.) Corrupt Pures 7.) The Last Pures 8.) Destructive Pures 9.) NME 10.) Intense Redemption 11.) Control 12.) Devastation 13.) Zenith 14.) The Hatred 15.) The Golden Gods 16.) Against All Odds 17.) Malice 18.) Redemtion 19.) Zerg Unit 20.) Calamity/Ascendency/Pure Annihilation/Chaotic/Hazard/others

  24. Good pull, hopefully other clans can step up and provide you with competition soon. Keep it up guys
  25. Thats what I was saying, it's little to do with 'skill' or anything like that but RSPS clans couldn't compete on 07 for that simple fact they don't want to train or grind. Which is either a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it, and everyone will have opinions on that. For me, putting the effort in makes success far more satisfying, but on the flip side the effort required to make a decent account in 07 where everyone is already maxed/higher lvled is a tough ask for people who really cant be bothered. I do think that opening a clan on 07 shows more ambition though, as its much more difficult to build a solid 07 clan than a solid RSPS clan simply because of the overall effort required on accounts etc. There are obviously a few clans that have done a good job and been successful in their own right, but speaking generally alot (if not most) of the RSPS clans are extremely "B league" in terms of clan structure and organisation outside of clan wars or wherever you guys fight. Either way, enjoy your RSPS clanning, hopefully one day those clans decide to try their luck on 07.
