And in reference to that question, that was the basis of which I posted my opinion. A nickname is not something you can control, unless you personally somehow change the nickname's origins, which you personally cannot since it is like I said is the original name of FoE anyways. FoE's history IS needed in this case, since their official opening name was actually Final Ownage, and not Final Ownage Elite. That alone is a legit reason for clans of similar age and caliber to refer to them as such, added on to the fact that the clan has both closed and reopened more than once. I'm not at all implying that a clan SHOULDN'T reopen if they have closed previously, that is something you are assuming because you are not at all comprehending the stance in which I'm viewing this topic. My view of this topic is as one who has been around the community since 2009 and seen every clan go through peaks and slumps, and seen clans perform better than others at various points and times, as well as have more honor at various points and times. If FO truly reopened for the sake of "just having fun on a game aka runescape" as you state, then the nickname shouldn't even matter, because eventually you will prove your rivals wrong both ingame and out of game that their nickname of you is not justified. I will not represent EoP nor TLP in this matter since I don't play the game, but my opinion in this matter won't change. FoE's original name was FO, their IRC channel is STILL #finalownage, and rival clans need nothing more than those 2 facts to use that nickname. Besides that, continue to be elite in your Clan Wars performances, and that will keep you rolling on your path to winning acceptance for your accomplishments (if that's what you desire by people calling you by the name of FoE vs FO).

Although the rest of this topic is humorous, I'm going to put in my 2 cents here since this is an open discussion topic under Clan Discussion. The reason clans probably refer to Final Ownage as FO is partially because A) that is their original name, their irc is #finalownage, and C) the "elite" status is generally assumed to be with a clan that is in all forms (ingame, forums, ts) at a higher level of efficiency and capability than any other clan. That is 3 reasons that ANY clan can choose to change the nickname of FoE to FO. And since the 2nd half of your paragraph is not really relevant as it has nothing to do with the original part of the question (Why do people refer to FoE as FO?), I'm not going to address it, although I will say that matter of perspective has a HUGE part to play in terms of what people constitute a "win" in RS lol. But yeah, seeing as you do care about your clan's nickname to the point where you make this sort of topic regarding it, maybe you should work on your clan's performance in other categories/outputs that way it's once again viewed as an "elite" version of FO, rather than just the 3rd rendition of said project. Generally speaking, elite clans don't have to reopen, they leave enough of a legacy that when they close the void is felt for years afterwards. And yes, that was for all the former Mayhem Makers out there.

Also, where is this mythical evidence of slush "leaking ips"? Slush has no clan affiliation besides the ones he hosts, and unlike some webhosts out there Slush has never fucked over any of his clients. Everything about your post above displays nothing but bias, and you expect people to take your side. Not likely my friend. Not likely at all.

It's the only site in recent memory to allow true posting freedom without allowing IRLs, IPs, or rank boards to be posted/leaked regularly. Considering how bias every other website has been, and how lacking in diversity their rank teams have been, I can't say that there's any website finer than this one. If there was I'd support it.

Lol. If you can't clear a clan, you don't win. If you can't clear a clan due to cb gaps, fight deep. If you can't fight deep, accept that you can't clear a clan and continue fighting or just fight another clan. KDR was one of the worst long term tools in terms of impacting weekend trip activity. The year the KDR came out, average time clans spent in multi plummetted. As others have mentioned, the boosting was also a real thing. I remember one trip a certain clan got fully cleared at Piper after being pushed all the way from mossie vents.... and when their members asked why they weren't returning, their ranks linked pics of KDR tracker and said no look, our kdr was better we obviously won already. KDR in relation to RS Clanning = Cancer.

It would've been a pretty cool thing if Jagex would've hired this gentleman rather than try and hire bundle of twigsgots like Matt|SoWr3cked. Just saying, he at least would be a representative of oldschool clanning.
