To be honest with you, speaking impartially, I would say in combination with reduced size of this community, the ego's of certain members of the community makes a return to previous times near impossible. New players arent coming and many who are left have behaved in atrocious ways and not been removed from the community (due to poor pulls likely). This slowly seeps into leadership over the years.
I still think overall the real underlying issue that started all of this was the involvement of the main scene. The pure and main scene stayed separate for a long time, and now I'm very doubtful they will ever dissociate.
I dont really have a solution, but I also dont really care. The game is coming towards a close anyway (atleast from a clanning perspective). I would urge anyone who is putting considerable time into "fixing" the community to not waste their time (atleast outside of CWA.)
If this game had a moderator team who interacted adequately with the community, the pure scene would be in a perfect spot, and I'd probably still have the same enthusiasm for the game.
For whatever time is left, I will occasionally log on to be with my boys and kill the ops!

Eevee got a reaction from Dox17 in 5V5 Tournament Results/Event Breakdown
Recently, a 5v5 Tournament was held and hosted by Oliver, a community member and former SharkBrew staff member. This tournament had a cash payout of 450M (200M from the host and 250M from SharkBrew) and was canceled by the host halfway through for reasons that aren't entirely clear, speculating that it was related to a mute sustained for inappropriate conduct in our Discord. Because of this, they have refused to contribute their portion of the payout that was agreed upon by both the host (Oliver) and the staff at SharkBrew.
This type of behavior is a blatant waste of time for our community members that participated directly in the event, and a waste of time on behalf of the staff members here that work to organize events for the community. It creates uncertainty as to how an event is completed and whether or not it's worth your time (and ours) to continue the brackets or dissolve them, which can leave people feeling disappointed or even outright scammed. Because of this, SharkBrew will be picking up some extra slack and offer the entire 450M prize pool directly to make up for the unprofessional behavior of the event host.
I would also like to give a personal shoutout to @lawi, a fellow community member and volunteer who stepped in to finish the event on behalf of the participants. Without his help the event likely would have been canceled, so please thank him for his efforts.
A sincerest apology to all of our participants. Rest assured that this individual will not be permitted to host events on our platform(s) again in the future.

    Winners:
    Fatality - 200M
    Synergy - 150M
    KO- 100M

    DM @Kimfor your winnings.

We do. The problem is that this behavior has become endemic to the community as a whole. When someone steps out of line and behaves in a manner such as this, others feel it appropriate to take matters into their own hands and lash out in retaliation, which creates a pretty substantial domino effect.
I have 10 pages of logs of users we’ve banned from Sharkbrew for this behavior. 10 PAGES. That’s 15 users per page. I’ve been ratcheting down pressure to get people to stop, and it still doesn’t deter anyone which means the issue is greater than “just permanently ban these people.” We do, and it still persists.

Everyone involved on SharkBrew or in the community as a whole needs to ask themselves what they want this scene to look like, and you cannot act hypocritical whilst doing so. If you’re going to complain about this pervasive and toxic behavior, you better make sure you’re holding your own people to the same standard. That’s how we fix this, by everyone pitching in and holding each other accountable, and not let these people continue to participate in our clans.

I can only do so much to ban these people, the rest is up to you guys to set the bar higher and not recruit anyone with a history of aggressive and threatening behavior. If no one will let them participate, they go away and our community will benefit from it.

Murd, in all honesty you need to stop. No one on our staff team allows for this kind of nonsense to happen, and we take it pretty seriously when instances of doxing occur. The fact that you think that we even allow this type of behavior on our platform shows how little you know and how much effort and time it takes to keep people like this out of our channels and forums.
The reality of this situation is that it's become so entrenched into the community's behavior that everyone thinks it's acceptable to attack each other without actually understanding the real world ramifications, dangers and consequences their actions can bring. Also to add to the point that this isn't a situation where a random member from a clan behaved in rash fashion and was booted from the clan, this was an instance of clan leaders normalizing this behavior in front of all of their members. The difference is that this can create a top-down power vacuum where leadership essentially holds their members hostage with aggressive behavior, and normalizes this behavior in front of their members which in turn will show no regard for others and begin to believe that this sort of behavior is acceptable. And how do you think other clans are going to respond? They're going to respond in like-fashion, which is bad for this community and bad for existing player retention.
You need to cut out this "SharkBrew mods is bias" bullshit out and actually take a look at what's happening.

I can't speak for the other staff members and moderators, but I'm confident in my abilities that I am taking every available step and precaution to combat this sort of behavior, and continue to do so on a daily basis. Unfortunately I'm human, so I can't be around 24 hours of every day making sure that people are adhering to our standards, which is why we have additional staff members. Getting everyone on the same page is a constant evolution, new situations crop up, and stuff falls through the cracks. It should not be a regular revolving issue, and if it's getting to that point, we need help from the users of the community to make sure that these situations are being dealt with in fair and just fashion.
So, if you see any of this happening, and something isn't being addressed, I am asking you to please get in touch with one of us and we will look at the situation seriously. Given the problems over the last 24 hours, I've had to scramble my staff team and bring up multiple discussions about this type of behavior to make sure everyone is on the same page. Because of this I'm taking up a fair bit of their time making sure that we have the tools to address these problems. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, PLEASE SAY SOMETHING.

Not a fan of doxxing, but I think it's ironic to see certain clans claiming the high road when everyone knows that these practices/tactics are widespread throughout the community.
It's going to take a concerted effort from the community to change for things like doxxing/ddosing to stop and frankly, I don't think the community is up to it. It would need to start at the top with leaders across clans to put aside differences and make decisions for the good of the community, something that has proven impossible time and time again.
I think a member of any clan in 2020 (or honestly anyone playing online games in 2020) should be wary of what IRL information they share with others. Be smart about what/how much you share because you don't know what hands it's going to fall into. Furthermore, if you know you've shared sensitive information in the past, maybe think twice about leaking for some quick gp. Again - not condoning doxxing, just telling it as it is.

thats fair, imo take precautions and its all g. I'd say as long as you dont list your RSN on social media/in a picture of yourself no one can 100% prove you're the player of a RS/Discord account. And if you allow that to happen you accepted the risks, knowingly or unknowingly.
Gotta start an some kind of anti dox union between the communities if you really want it to end - which will likely never happen b/c of grudges and snakes

This topic is turning into a shitshow.
SharkBrew does not tolerate doxing of anyone under any circumstances. That much is very clear and evident if you actually took a moment to read our community rules. Any sort of activity related to this behavior always will be an immediate ban on-sight response.
This concern trolling stating how there’s some sort of inherent bias amongst how our ranks operate is honestly a joke. Every clan on this game likes to claim that there’s some sort of one sided behavior against their clan when the reality is that most clans just want preferential treatment given to them on a silver platter and it’s beyond idiotic.

I will repeat this again so it’s drilled deep into your head: SharkBrew has zero tolerance for any activity related to individuals or clans doxing members of other communities, or members within their own communities. This behavior is never allowed on our Forums or our Discord, and will be met with swift action and a permanent ban from our platforms if and when it occurs. Anyone involved in this sort of behavior needs to grow up or quit playing this game because all it does is further fracture this community and erodes the remaining userbase away.
I would call on all members of the clan scene, pure clans and main clans alike, to shun this behavior and call out people for making very direct and dangerous attacks towards others so people know who and what to avoid for their own safety, and the safety of this community and its users no matter who you participate with or where you choose to gather.
