(So named BC they once carried canes and were reffered to as the "cripples" which was shortened to Crips. Gangs such as the "Piru gang", the Brims, and the Bishops came together under one umbrella to form the Almighty Bloods as the Crips have a much higher member rate than bloods (roughly 4-1). As with the Crips, the bloods expanded into sub-gangs also known as "sets". A set can range from a dozen to a couple hundred members.This is especially true of the Crips set " The Hoovers" which holds over a thousand members. Bloods will also align with other gangs as a mutual benefit for money and power ,same as the Crips but bloods are more adapt at this tactic. Bloods are smarter,more cunning,and adapt better than Crips. For example, Crips are at war and kill other Crips. Bloods do not do this BC it is pointless. Bloods have spread from Los Angeles to every city in the US and even have sets in Canada and in the military. Some people get confused when they hear "Piru" or "Brim" gang members say that they're bloods. Bloods were started on Piru St in Los Angeles so it's symnominous as well asDenver Lane,Athens, and Bishop. Bloods wear the color red or green and "dress to the right" meaning they're flag (bandanna) hangs out of their right back pocket,right pant leg rolled up (an older style) hat cocked to the right and so on. Uniform All Bloods dress and accessorize differently but the main uniform is Black,white,or red Chuck Taylor all stars (The original gangster shoe) Khaki Dickies Red webbed belt A number of shirts are worn although most bloods prefer black ,white or red T-shirts or on colder days a red plaid flannel or a sports team jacket that represents the color red (ex Washington Redskins)... BLOODS are also fond of sport jerseys) Baseball hat w/red in it. Red shoelaces And ALWAYS a red flag... Bloods have their own laws,bylaws,language and codes similar to a cult. I am prohibited from writing some here as penalty of a Violation (a beating by other Blood members) I DO NOT CONSIDER THIS SNITCHING OR GIVING UP GAME. Some examples are: Bloods pay homage to the number Five..(5) while Crips pay it to the number six. "Five poppin' 6 droppin" Bloods are aligned with the Vice Lords gang as Crips prefer to align with the Folk nation... Bloods and Latin Kings are unified and work together in some cases whether it be financially motivated or violence motivated. Bloods communicate using a series of hand signs..when multiple signs are thrown up this is known as stacking. Tattoos Bloods have several tattoos they use to identify they're allegiance, to represent their "set" and to communicate. The more popular ones are: A triangular "Dog Paw" on the upper shoulder/arm that usually always BRANDED in with a heating element. A five point star A five point crown A teardrop from the left eye ( popular lore says this is only given after you have dropped your first body but this is not true anymore (IT ONCE WAS) but now it can mean anything from mourning a loved one or fellow blood member,a lengthy prison sentence and now even just plain depression. It's lost its value) Clock with no hands- usually signifies time standing still worn by inmates Any picture,phrase,or slogan that represents the number FIVE and/or disrespects the number six What that 5 like; Five poppin' 6 droppin Language Bloods have their own language. In most cases the letter C will eiether be crossed out or a K will be substituted. Also the letter B will be substituted often.. Hey what that 5 like?
