there are so many reasons for a clan closing outside of performance that i would have to go with the 2nd option. the best clans ive ever been in in their respective scenes all had less life span than those who saw less success. an example would be NME, who demolished long time clans CP and EoP with ease and made a lasting name for themselves in just a couple months.

 

being around forever just means you have stubborn/resilient ranks and core. its what you accomplish in that time that makes the time spent worthwhile

to be fair, epidemic's reign was longer than 2 weeks and they had internal strife that led to them closing. whose to say where they would have ended up if things were kept civil and ranks had the time to lead it. epidemic showed they could easily rise above mm/foe/all other clans, the fact that they werent around as long as MM doesnt change the fact that they were better than MM when they were open

mass training 20 defence in a time where the idea of defence was still taboo makes a big difference.

when your open for a long time, you acheive everything a 2 year clan would have already, so you have your bad times, ex. 2012-2014 Fatality #1 then eops 2016-2017 Wilderness Pulls. I hate when clans close because it gets "hard" like we've all been there lol suck it up be a core not a bitch.
