While the declaration system isn't perfect, it has achieved most of its intended goals of encouraging rivalries on Sharkbrew, so it is here to stay.

At the moment, the Declaration system is hindered by the fixed combat cap, and it is extremely biased towards weaker clans. These new rules will help shift the balance and encourage a fairer fight for both clans.

Memberlist Based Declaration

Instead of relying on fixed combat tiers where it is extremely easy for clans to exploit, this time round, the rules will be based on your clan's memberlist.

Minimum Combat Cap Formula For MPC-

Floor(A + (HCB - A) / 2 + C)

Where

A: Average Combat Level according to your clan's memberlist

HCB: The combat level of your highest 20- def account

C: the min opts of the fight:

25v25 - C=2

30v30 - C=3

35v35 - C=4

40v40+ - C=5(MAX)

Explanation

The new formula is designed to prevent MPC- clans from taking advantage of the low tier they are in by having HPC rank accounts, while the rest of the clan are MPC- leveled. This formula reward clans for having members whose combat levels are close to each other. However, even if everyone is of the same combat level, you will still have to fight at least 2 combat levels above your average. This is designed to prevent underachieving clans from hogging low combat levels hoping that better clans will not declare on them.

Examples

Lets use Ruin as an example. Their memberlist can be found here: http://clan-ru.com/community/?memberlist=memberlist

209a3d44aa9500e69d07b8736209342d.png

Lets say they want a 35v35

A + (HCB - A) / 2 + C

A: 76(black circle)

HCB: 96.85(red circle)

C: 3

76 + (96.85 - 76) / 2 + 3= 89.425

Minimum combat cap Ruin can declare with a 35v35 will be 89. Judging from their memberlist, Ruin will be able to pull more than 3/4 of their ML but they will only have to sit 9 of their grossly over leveled 90s and 100s

Prevention of Memberlist Padding

To prevent clans from padding their MLs with high levelled retired accounts, we will be implementing a min opt for ALL declarations.

The minimum pull would be either 25v25 or 40% of the total members on your ML

Other rules/guidelines will be released shortly after fine-tuning.

#post-1-0-77736400-1402374178.pngAmbassador - As this update is contingent on having a continuously updated memberlist, I am giving you guys 8 days to settle any memberlist issues. If you don't have an ML, feel free to get one here: http://www.sharkbrew.com/runescape/index.php/index

Awesome! Makes sense :)

Will be hard though, considering most clan's memberlists are a complete mess in a garbage can with people being not ranked or with mains in them.

Aao member list is the cleanest

Sounds like a good system actually, not sure how it's going to work out for op who have 75% 30-39 deffers(but still lose preps lmao)
