Changes to COTM System

IR and Apex have communicated their intent to withdraw from the COTM system. Unfortunately such arrangements will affect other clans who are competing for COTM tiebreaker at the end of the month as they will lose out on points if they were to prep these IR/Apex. This will also lead to a decline in preps across the board too.

Rather than forcing clans into the COTM, this time round we will be coming up with a Special Guest rank for the COTM where clans/teams who choose to be inside the Special Guest will not have their wins counted at all, but all other clans prepping such Special Guest clans will receive their COTM allocated points. Special Guest clans will not be eligible for any COTM related rewards nor would they be able to dispute or utilize any system that affects COTM points.

Special Guest clans will also not be eligible for seasonal COTM.

Clans can signal their intention to withdraw from the system any time, but if they wish to re-enter into the system, it will only happen on the following month.

Changes to the Dispute System

Quote

Problem:

The static rules that form the current dispute system is too rigid for the realities of wilderness fights. The current dispute system does not reflect nor does it highlight the severity and impact of mains brought to pure wilderness fights.

Additionally the requirements of dispute system also precludes certain clans from opening disputes on others despite being wronged in-game.

The dispute system has also been used as a means to spite the clan rather than to solve the problem of mains crashing pure fights.

Proposal:

A community led dispute system where a dispute can be filed by the following members of the community:

  • Ambassador topic clearly showing mains being brought to crash the fight
  • Admission of clear evidence from 5 outstanding members of the pure community(TBD)

Upon creation of a dispute, the topic is then open to anyone to submission evidences clearly showing (same mains) hitting fights for 24 hours.

After that, the dispute is closed then Ambassadors are then required to vote on the dispute.

In order to vote in a dispute, an Ambassador's clan must fulfill the following:

  • Have their clan page created in the Sharkbrew Wiki
  • Must have posted a weekend topic within 2 weeks of the dispute

Ontop of that, not all ambassador votes are equal. You will get an additional 0.5 vote if your clan fulfills the following:

  • Open for more than 2 years
  • Legacy clan
  • Have participated in a fullout

A 66.66% simple majority is required to pass the dispute. The implications of a dispute are as follows:

Penalties:

  • Inability to win COTM for the same and the following month
  • Wilderness topic Marked as "Propaganda"
  • Inability to win seasonal COTM
  • For the next 30 days, All preps participated against said clans will be nulled
  • For the next 30 days, Any clan who preps said clan will also also lose ability to win COTM for the same month
  • Blacklisted on the shame list

--------------------------

COTM is still a go for June, but I would like to push these changes before the end of this week as well as reopening the dispute system.

Thoughts and suggestions. Thanks

Business as usual for COTM. It's unfortunate for those clan members that reached out to me during this week however we're looking forward to seeing continued action for all pure clans inside and outside the wilderness. TY to everyone who has taken time to contribute constructive feedback.

So the disputes for clans bringing mains are reliant on a 66% popular vote for a successful dispute? That sounds a bit unfair, the whole community hate fom for being a scummy main/doxing/hacking clan, any time there's a dispute it won't pass because of evidence, it'll pass because no one likes those cringe dudes

You can check clan forums/sharkbrew from the period of Jan-Mar when COTM wasn't active. On average, clans only did 1 prep a week, in contrast to now where we are seeing up to twice a week, and with the final tiebreaker prep being thrown ontop of it

Pretty sure the only clan that actively participates in this contest (Supremacy), should already be on the Blacklist for prior disputes. May be part of the reason why most people believe COTM is a joke.

They restructured the dispute system so Supremacy could save face l00l

Lmao, all these clans still crying about Supremacy.

Let's all just forget about other clans past actions and focus on Supremacy shall we. Shitters.

Whether COTM exists or not, we will still prep anyone, regardless of PAST actions. Pvp action is action, which is what the pure scene is about, being competitive. Shame certain clans are scared of prepping others to 'save face' as IR Harmz would say. You shouldn't be caring about losing to an opposing clan, it only incites your members to be better, as proven with Apex and Foe.
